Once upon a time there lived a girl named Candy Angel

She had no friends, just Jems and Dens & Salty Caramel apples

She had a garden, full of candy, of all different sorts and sizes

Trees that grew mints & candy canes & jaw breakers to sweet appetizers

On a cool winters day, she lay by the gummy bear bush

And picked chocolate kisses from the overhanging vines of liquorice

She imagined herself bathing in the pool of chocolate syrup

And beside the pool is a wall looming over her, covered with jelly beans and flowers that shoot powdercandy. She used to sing every night before she fell asleep on the grass. She had a lovely voice.

No one ever visited her but she didnt care. She could literally dig up gummy worms from the ground and she loved it.

Who wouldnt want a fountain of varieties of candy? Taffee and toffee grew on plants. Chocoballs hung from vines. Giant swirly pops grew on the hedges of the garden and Candy bars could be found in parts of popsicle candy bushes.

Candy Angel basically had the life she dreamed of. But she always wondered what was on the other side of the overlooming wall.

She slept under the stars most days instead of her waffle ice cream house. On this particular night. The wind was colder and stars shone brighter. She felt as if something was coming for her. As if she was really happy for the first time.

A gumball dropped from the wall side. She gasped. As she saw a figure at the top of the wall. It jumped down onto the shiny sugar covered grass. He was taller than she was by a good few inches. She couldnt believe it. There was another being out there. What was he here for? What was he doing here? Was she in danger? All her questions and anxiety faded away when He asked her "Aren't you going to sing again tonight?". She was surprised. He had been listening to her sing all this time? Every night? The answer was 'Yes' 🙂

So she sang for him every other night from then onwards. They grew closer night by night. Talking about sugary clouds and monsters from the other side.

She felt complete just lying there beside him being herself. And he felt guilty for thinking he could steal the heart of the Candy Sorceress that gave life to everything in the Candy Kingdom. For little did Candy Angel know that she was the Candy Sorceress who held the power to create and destroy life. She didnt even know that the luminous Red Jem on the fountain was her life and the heart of everything living in her garden.

He wanted to tell her about his motives a few nights before, but they were just so happy spending time together that he just couldnt yet. He decided to tell her on the night of Full Moon.

It was the Night of Full Moon. During every full moon, Candy Angel would wear a special crimson red dress with jems and jade of pretty colors. She looked exquisite with her hair up in a bun with bits spiraling down her back. She waited for her friend to arrive. Staring up at the wall that he usually jumped down from. He was running late she thought, so she admired the full moon. She noticed that the moon started turning pink, then red. It was a crimson moon. She wasnt in control of her body anymore. She watched herself lift up into the air as the ice cold wind twirled up around her, pulling vines and gummy bears off from the ground. Could it be?! She thought to herself, she remembered this feeling of fear. She saw this happen to her Mother 4 years ago ! The winds lifted her up into the sky and then back down, by then Mommy was gone.

She heard a faint cry from behind her. He was standing on the ground trying to find a way to get her down. he looked frustrated. Then, everything turned black.

He saw her slowly falling down. He held her before she hit the ground and lay her down onto the sugar coated grass. He didnt know what to do. He remembered the tales of how the last Sorceress died in a situation similar to this one. Then, without thinking, he ran to the fountain and jumped into the candy filled milk. He reached for the Red Jem.

She slowly opened her eyes to find tears streaming down his eyes from above her. She felt him holding her tight. She put her hand over his back and asked him what was wrong?

He felt a hand on his back and looked up to find her smiling at him with her cheeks covered in sugar and her crimson red dress ripped in places and blood stained body. He felt joy as he hugged her even tighter, just enough not to make her hurt.

She felt warm and safe as he hugged her with tears streaming down her eyes. He started coughing all of a sudden. She held back for a while to see why he was coughing. Then she remembered what was happening. She was in mid air when she lost consciousness. He fell on his back and started coughing up blood. She was so scared. She glimpsed at the fountain for a second, then looked at the fountain with more focus. The Red Jem was gone! She knew what he did now!

"You idiot!" She cried. Her tears were endless. And he couldnt stop coughing up blood. She knew he going to die because Mommy once told her that only she could touch the Jem on the fountain- nobody else. Without thinking, she ripped her dress and dug into her chest to pull out her own heart which was glowing red with sugar and blood. She stuck it into his chest and waited.

He woke up feeling energy flowing through his veins. he felt different to some level of extremity. He turned to his side and saw her laying down on her back. No! He pulled her up into his arms and shook her in hope that she would wake up. She opened her eyes and whispered a few words before she died.

He cried, and wouldnt stop crying as he held onto her cold body. The grass beneath her was glowing and then it slowly faded. He didnt notice that the grass beneath him started glowing. He thought it over and over again and lay there next to her while thinking of the words she said.

"You saved my life, so i gave you mine to save yours"

He never got to say what he wanted to say. And she never got to know who she really was. He saved her life by making her eat the Red Jem of life, knowing very well that No human must touch the Jem for they shall perish. And she gave him her own life knowing she could save his because it was either a life without him or save his life by giving up her own. She chose to give up her own life, because, she realized that during the time they spent together, she had a new meaning to happiness, and that he WAS her life. Now that he has her heart within him, he becomes the new Candy Sorcerer. Its funny but if she had the choice, she would call him the Candy Thief... for stealing her heart and taking her breathe away...
