Chapter 2

I heard a small whining sound, I looked towards the road and saw blurry flashing red and blue lights. Then my vision blacked over.

I woke up on a soft, white hospital bed. They had put me in one of the hospital gowns, I pushed the light blanket off me and tried to stand. A nurse outside the door rushed in and gently pushed me back onto the bed.

"Sorry, but you were in a pretty bad car wreck, and you need your rest so lie back down" I looked at her and asked quietly, "Is my mother really dead?" I knew it was stupid to ask, but I had to make sure it wasn't a dream. The nurse nodded softly, a pitiful, sad look in her eyes. "I'm sorry for your loss..." I looked at her crossly, people act like it was they're fault by apologizing for something they had nothing to do with. The nurse walked out after making sure I was fine. I lay there, thinking about the faceless man and his...group? Cult? I didn't know what to call it. Then something came to mind. A Proxy.
