I'm sure you've heard of movies and book where the protagonist travels through time to stop an event. I'm going to tell you why that's impossible. It's simple. If you were to travel back in time to stop an event and succeed, what usually happens is that the hero remembers stopping it. Here's where I disprove it. If you were to stop an event from the past, you'd forget about that event, invoking a paradox in which you would create a time loop of solving the problem, fixing, forgetting it, and then the event would happen again and you would try to undo it, repeating the process indefinitely. I will elaborate if I can.
