Back to my story

To tell you all the truth, me and Mark Fossie wasn't really going to make it long. He never could accept change. Not since the day I met him.

I was different now. More out there ready for any mission to come my way. I was ready for the kill as you Americans would say.

"Mark, I want to see more in the world. Let me go on a mission. Please?"

"Mary Anne, it is too dangerous for a girl like you. Just sit back and relax. Let us men handle the dangers in life. Don't you worry your pretty little face."

"But Mark I wa-"

"Mary Anne enough! No missions! You're just a girl. Now go listen to music."

I stormed off.

Upset

furious

frustrated

to be honest...

no words could describe the rage going through my head

I wanted to go on a mission and I was going to go whether he liked it or not

With that being said...

I ran off with The Greenies

That's when I shot my first person.

I came back home the a few days later to find Mark Fossie furious with me, but I didn't care. That was until he raised his voice at me.

"YOU WASN'T SUPPOSED TO GO!"

"Well, I wanted to and you're just going to learn to accept that!"

"Accept what? The fact that you are a whole new person now? That our dreams will soon become shattered because you want to become something that you're not? Mary Anne, our dream and goal has always been to get married and have like five children. What has happened to you?"

"Nothing has happened to me we can still have kids. Not as many as five, but we can still have kids. We don't have to get married right away. Maybe a few years from now. Other than that, this is who I am and you just need to accept it Mark."

I took one step forward and Mark grabbed my arm and brought me back.

"This isn't over Mary Anne! We need to talk about this."

"Not right now. I'm tired Mark. Goodnight."

I walked off while Mark stood there turning red as an apple. It was funny at first, but was he to tell me who I couldn't be. That I, Mary Anne Bell, had to sit my "pretty little face" down and watch all the guys do the work?

I am in this village. Am I not?

Might as well adapted to this new environment that I'm in.

The next day, everything was smooth sailing. All the guys saw me as one of them. Nobody looked at me in awe anymore like I was just another piece of meat. They looked at me with faith and hope. Knowing good and well I would lead them to victory.

After that little talk with Mark I taught myself how to blend in with the forest, but I never liked calling it blending in. I always called it "being one with the forest" because only the forest can truly protect you if it knows you are trying well enough to be with it and become it.

After working on that for three hours, I left again without telling Mark. I was gone for only a few days. Getting bloody with the other men. I was technically the new leader.

I knew what the hell I was doing in that forest in the war zone.

I told my men before we set off that once you step off this safe line the war has begun and there is no turning back unless the job is done. We all understood each other clearly and set off.

It was the best day of my life. Not only did I get to see my victims crying and plead as they bled out, but I also saw my true passion: killing.

The war was over in seventy-two hours so we all went home at night. Covered in blood and tired as fuck.

I walked by Mark's tent. Didn't bother waking him because I knew he'll be mad.

"WHAT THE HELL MARY ANNE? WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? WHY ARE YOU CONSTANTLY DISAPPEARING?"

Great the demon himself is arisen.

"Mark, not tonight please. I am tired. It's been a long day don't you understand? Please go to sleep. We will talk tomorrow."

I took a few steps before the lion had spoke.

"NO! WE WILL TALK RIGHT NOW!"

My whole body froze in shock. I was scared. He raised his voice at me again. Mark has officially gone crazy...
