It was already dark outside and raindrops were slowly starting to roll down my window. I was sitting at my desk and doing my homework. That day was my birthday, it was on the week so I couldn't celebrate it maybe as much as I wanted, but it was fine. I was holding my head up with my Hands, otherwise I probably would've fell asleep. I was thinking about tomorrow and how I still had to do my homework. But I just didn't want to do it that moment. Suddenly everything went dark... The light on my desk went out. "What the... ", I said in suprise . Dad has had already fixed it a few days ago. My chair made a quieking sound as I stood up in order to find my father. It was so dark I couldn't see my hand in front of my face. But I made my way through my room and into the living room where the lights were on. My dad wasn't in the living room so I walked into the kitchen to find my mom cooking. I sat down on a chair next to the kitchen table. "Where's dad? " I asked my mother. "Oh, you know work always keeps him busy, darling. Although he should've already come home by now. " she answered. At that moment we heard squeaky noises in front of the door to our flat. Suddenly the door opened and dad rushed into the kitchen. His clothes were soaken wet from the rain and he had a hard time breathing. He must've been running. "We won!" he coughed. "What? " I asked unimpressed. My mom was already hugging him. "The lottery! " my father said happily.
