Sunday (the next day)
I sat on the back steps of my house. A bottle of coca cola in my hand. Natalie and Ally sat cross legged on the grass. A couple minutes after I got home yesterday Ally called, apologizing, I had gone along with it even though I was still pretty pissed.
Billie Jean played on the radio and Natalie bobbed her head to the beat.
"We should do something today," Ally exclaimed as she stared down into her almost empty bottle of coke.
Natalie looked around scanning my junk-yard of a back yard. Old wrecked cars outlined it like a fence, an old rusted swingset slumped over in the back beside a gnarled oak tree.
"Lets climb the tree," Natalie grunted as she stood up.
"I'll race you guys!" She gave us no time to object. I jumped up along with Ally. Shoving her to the ground, I passed her and made my way towards Natalie. I tackled her to the ground
"OOF," she yelled as she fell.
"Im gonna win!" I called as I leapt towards the biggest root of the tree.
"I win!" I yelled.
"Congrats," Ally sighed sarcastically.
We climbed up the branches of the tree, Billie Jean had ended and When Doves Cry started to play, quiet now because of the distance. We used to climb this tree when we were younger, without a care in the world.
"YO LADIES!" A voice called. I hooked my legs around the branch and flipped backwards. Whilst upside down, I seen the Bowers gang. All 4 of them. But they were a lot closer than I originally thought. Patricks face just inches from mine. He gave a sly smile and lightly kissed my cheek. A blush formed on my face, and on his.
"Eww," Natalie yelled throwing a small stick at me. I flipped back up onto the branch. We looked down at the Bowers gang who crowded the base of the tree.
"How did you guys know where we were?" I asked as I helped hoist Patrick up.
"I, uh, followed you home last night," Patrick said as he scrambled to find his balance.
"Wait.. what-" I got cut off as Henry pulled my leg down causing me to fall off the branch and into his arms.
"My turn to sit in the tree, sweet stuff," he dropped me and with a wink, hopped up onto the branch.
I frowned.
"Oi vey," I turned around and sat down.
"Oh dont pout Y/n, push him off," Natalie called.
I stood up and made a grab for Henrys leg, he hoisted his leg up out of my reach and stuck his tongue out at me. Patrick gave him a hard shove and Henry toppled to the ground.
"Jackass," He muttered.
"Im bored of the tree anyways," Natalie jumped off her branch and back towards the house to her soda. We all followed.
I raised the coca cola bottle to my lips about to take a sip. Patrick reached over and stole the bottle taking a sip himself.
"Refreshing," he said as he chugged the rest.
"Hey! You jerk," I said as I made a grab for the bottle he pulled it out of my grasp and tilted backwards causing me to fall onto him. He gave me a perverted smile.
"Creep," I said sitting up, off of him.
•••••
We spent the rest of the day drinking cola and listening to music. At one point it got a bit out of hand when Henry and Patrick got into a fistfight over Henry trying to grab my ass.
Patrick won.
Belch and Victor were the first to leave.
Then Henry.
Then Ally.
Then Natalie.
It was just down to me and Patrick.
