Cold, white snow always followed by a flurry of even brighter snowflakes that reflected off of the sun, "The snow in that valley however, was warm, it kept getting hotter and hotter until it felt like I was standing inside a pot of fresh magma, flowing around me. Blue colors seemed to represent the cold, blue skies and white winters, but then why was it warm? the color of heat is Red, not blue...."

Distant bells could be heard, echoing though Niia's mind. she coughed lightly, realizing she was in a bed. sighing slightly under her breath, she scooted to the back of the bed, blinking and rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.

So that was a dream.... but it felt real. Niia thought, shrugging it off as she finally took her first glance around the room. The room was rather large, stretching so much further than a normal bedroom, and the walls where made of stale, cemented together bricks. Painted outlines, windows, beds, lamps, desks, and home-style patterns lined the back wall, while the front seemed to be bare with a wooden door.

Niia blinked "h-huh?" she glanced around confused. last she remembered she was home... or sort of, if you don't count the dream. a rush of numbness went though her hands as she boosted herself out of bed, wobbly standing up on her sleep-exhausted legs. Dizzy with tiredness, she staggered over to the nearest window, blinking at the rays of light that shined through.

Niia couldn't believe what she was seeing. outside was all desert! there where a few broken and dried up roads.. but other than that there wasn't a tree or house in sight, other than the one she was in, was this even a house? Niia could hear things going on above and below her.. so probably not, more like an old schoolhouse or apartment with so much space. a rush of adrenaline went though her as she turned around and dashed towards the door. "Oh shit..... where am I??" Niia muttered to herself. She turned the knob and it swung open surprisingly easily.

On the other side was a small waiting room. Before Niia could process anything she felt someone throw her arms around her. it was her little sister, Benji. Niia started to relax a little knowing she wasn't alone, but that feeling turned tense once more when Benji looked at Niia with fear-stricken eyes "Nee-nee! Mommy and Daddy are acting strange! they keep saying bad things!!!" the small 9 year old let out a big sob, pressing her salty, wet face against Niia's shirt. at the back of the room, two people seemed to be waiting for the two.

"Dear daughter! You've finally awoken" Her father spoke up, his voice seemed so... different. it was as if it where almost too cheerful. Her mother gave her a suspicious, toothy grin. "Its time we get going, my daughters! We mustn't be late!"

A spark of dread fell inside Niia as she gazed at her parents, she glanced at their foreheads a moment, looking in strange shock. There where multiple strange shapes that seemed to form a symbol on both of their foreheads, it was painted in bright red.

Niia figured she couldn't wait around trying to figure out what it meant, she instead decided to stall for time. Clenching Benji closer to her, she looked up at her mothers eyes  "S-so where are we going?"

Her mother looked at Niia for a moment, then let out a slightly exaggerated laugh. "Ahaha! silly me! I thought you had forgotten, but I haven't told you yet!" she wiped back some of the tears from laughing, looking at Niia from head to toe, an unreadable expression in her eyes.

"To the Ceremony of sides! so you can seal your loyalty to the Community of Red!"
