Sol was very gloomy and moody today, the two boy's behavior made her upset because they were keeping secrets, and she did not like it because they won't give in to her plea.

"Sol-ah, it's nothing really. Don't think about it." Samuel had been very sorry to Sol these past few days.

She wouldn't talk to them with much enthusiasm like before, like she suddenly became very pissed off.

"I should, right? I'm too foolish for acting like this." She shook the thoughts of those two away.

She spent the whole morning with them without bringing up the subject.

Actually, Sol is not upset about their little secret. She knew there were things that had to be discussed by boys and should stay between the both of them. The real reason why she was so upset at the both was the thought that they forgot about her birthday, especially Samuel.

Surprise morning gifts were his thing and he never forgot about her birthday, not even once. He always made sure that he'd greet her a happy birthday even when she just woke up from her slumber. Samuel really did not like it when someone beat him to greeting Sol first. That is why it made her clutch her head in annoyance as she stared at Samuel who was playing video games with Jihoon now.

"Guys I'm leaving." They did not even bothered to look at her and just focused on their game instead.

They just bid a plain 'okay' to her and that made her feel worse. It's not that she wanted them to remember her birthday, but it would be very nice if someone at least recognized her special day. Even Jihoon knew her birthday, he asked her once and even wrote it on a notebook of his.

She spent her whole afternoon by the river, the thought of them not trying to find her made her curl up in a ball and was about to make her well up in tears.

"It's okay, it's just a birthday." Sol said to herself.

But she felt sad deep inside, her Mom was working all day too and so was Mrs. Kim who treated her like her own daughter.

"No one remembers my birthday." She whispered to herself and stared at the stagnant water in front of her.

"So this is where you were." She heard a voice behind her and saw a face that was too familiar because she saw it almost everyday.

"Go away, I'm not in the mood." She tried to hide her puffy eyes from him and avoided his eyes.

"We were looking all over for you the whole afternoon." I was just here, she thought.

"You must be upset." She shifted away from him when he took a seat beside her.

She kept silent and remained curling up to herself.

"Sol-ah, I'll never forget this very important day." Her head jolted upwards when she heard Sam say that.

"Do you really think I would forget?" He grabbed her by the arm and made her stand up from the grass.

"Nobody even payed attention to me today." She couldn't stop the tears that constantly fell to her cheeks.

Sol cried in front of her best friend, she never wanted to but she just felt upset to feel neglected when its her birthday.

"Look at you." Samuel wiped all the tears away with his thumb and pinched Sol's cheeks.

He showed her his silly smile and grinned even more when a slight grimace became visible on her face.

"No more crying, okay? Come on." He dragged her by the hand and led her to the backyard of her house.

Everyone was there and they were all gleaming at Sol. She wanted to hit them all for making her feel rejected for the whole day but it overwhelmed her to see all the efforts that everyone did.

"Ow!" Samuel winced when Sol pinched him by his side.

"Now don't do that to the one who planned the evil scheme of trolling you." Jihoon joined the two and engulfed Sol in a hug.

"That's your punishment for treating me like a stone for the whole day." He snorted and made her stand near where the cake was.

"Happy Birthday to you~" Everyone was singing along and Sol could not erase the smile on her face so she sang along and blew the candles.

"Here's your birthday present."

"Carnival tickets?!" She jumped up in glee and hugged Jihoon again.

"Hey, what about me Jihoon?" Sam raised his brows at the boy.

"Don't worry, I got us three tickets."

"Great!"

"Well Sol this is my gift for you." Sammy took out a small velvet box in his pocket and placed it on the palm of Sol's hand.

"What is this?" She giddily asked him in curiousity.

"Open it."

Sol screamed at the top of her lungs and hugged Samuel too (more like wrestled him to a very tight hug).

"This is so cool!" She trailed her fingers on the necklace.

'Solly' was the word that was present in the necklace.

"Happy Birthday Sol."
