The emptiness of yet another hotel bed made me miss her even more. Hotel beds have forever been ruined by the scent of her hair and the sound of her snores. Each time I see the crisp white sheets, I remember christening the same exact ones in Hawaii only a couple months ago... I closed my eyes and tried to shoo away the image of her squinty smile and batting lashes, but my efforts are futile. Another day, another city, same broken heart. My sadness quickly evolved into anger as I thought of Madison's endless manipulation of my life. Of course she would take a photo like that. Of course I'd be idiotic enough to go see her before I left for a "quick farewell". That stupid fucking photo was taken half of a second before she turned her face and kissed me. My naivety to her games is idiotic. I should have known. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me".
The shrill ring of the hotel's phone made me jump. I groaned as my sore body screamed at me while I sat up.
"Hello?" I asked, rubbing my tired eyes.
"Mr. Gilinsky? There is a woman here to see you. She insisted I call up to tell you her name is Reigna." The front desk boy sounded irritated.
"Reigna? Are you sure?" Hope sparked in my heart and I felt instantly anxious.
"Yes, sir. She made it abundantly clear." His tone was odd. Reigna would never be rude to someone for no reason, unless she's really pissed.
"Send her up." I said.
The guy agreed then hung up. I hurried to the mirror and fixed my hair. I smelled like sweat and I looked like I had been hit by a bus, but there wasn't any changing that. I paced in front of the door as I waited to hear a knock. Why was she here? Did she finally want to talk things out? Or was she just here to give me my stuff back? My heart stopped when a gentle knock on the door finally came. Instead of the deep gaze of Reigna's chocolaty brown eyes, I'm met with daggers from the last person I wanted to see. Madison smiled at me, biting her lip and flicking her hair over her bare shoulder. She was wearing next to nothing with her long hair down across her chest. I could smell the perfume she used, I had bought it for her over a year ago. I used to love it, but right now, it's making me feel sick.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" I said, not bothering to hide her nuisance.
"Nice to see you, too." She said, her voice low.
"I never said it's nice to see you, because it's not. I'll repeat myself. What. The. Fuck. Are. You. Doing. Here?" I repeated, crossing my arms.
The second she saw I wasn't holding the door open at a certain distance, she swiftly pushed it open and slid around me into the room.
"Hey!" I tried to grab her but she was out of reach, the door slowly shutting behind me.
She smirked from across the room, then flicked her hair again and headed into the bedroom. I grunted in annoyance and hurried after her, praying I could get her out as fast as she came.
"Madison! Get out." I said, looking down at her body laying on my bed.
"No." She replied simply. I rolled my eyes and gently grabbed her by the arm.
I never lay my hands on women and I'm not about to start now. I was careful to only guide her up and out of the bedroom area, purposely keeping my grip loose and my touches light.
"I'll call security. I don't want you here and you lied about who you were." I said, shutting the door to the bedroom as we stood in the main lounge area of my suite.
"Only because I knew that if I said it was me, you wouldn't have let me up!" She whined loudly, stomping her high heel.
"Damn right I wouldn't have!" I replied.
