Laura's POV
"Come on Laura! You don't need him! Lets go party!" Cara begged me, giving my arm a tug, as I sat protesting on my bed.
"You know I don't do clubbing! I just get flustered! I can't take the heavy beat music and touching arms with sweaty, drunk strangers!" I said, walking into the bathroom, so I can wash my face. My boyfriend broke up with me two weeks ago, and let's just say, it hasn't been fun since. I've been none stop crying, and eating my way through chocolate like it's going out of fashion. Cara means well, but I just want to be left alone to collect my thoughts and think it through.
"Listen, one hour, we'll go out for one hour! I promise you'll love it! What d'ya say?" Cara said, trying to negotiate. I turn round to her, roll my eyes and grab my makeup bag. I give in.

*one hour later*
"Just here please!" Cara shouted to the driver. We pulled up outside a London nightclub, Planet! It looks nice, but it also looks busy and I can feel my palms sweating already. We crawl out of the taxi and walk towards the door, as we walk in I can feel the music pounding through my chest, and I'm definitely not loving it. "What do you want to drink?" My persuasive friend said, as she pulled me through the crowd and to the bar.
"I'll have a lemonade!" I shouted to the barman.
"Add a shot of vodka in that!" Cara also shouted to him. I grabbed her arm in shock.
"I didn't want any alcohol!"
"You're in a club! Plus I'm treating you! I want you to try and have fun!" Cara answered, grabbing her drink and taking a sip. We walked our way to a booth and sat down, the most comfortable I've been since I got here. I could see Cara making eyes at a boy in the crowd. She started waving, and I knew she was going to leave sometime soon. "Umm, I'm gonna pop over there for a second, wait a bit!" And she was gone! I really wasn't liking any of this. I had been dragged to a club, bought an alcoholic drink and now being made to wait in a corner for my friend to stop playing tonsil tennis with the boy across the way! Lovely.
I'd been sat by myself for 10 minutes, when I started to observe the crowd. Just crowds of people jumbled together, but I felt like I was being watched. I skim my eyes across the dance floor when I notice a boy, staring right at me, almost in a daze. I crack a smile and he gives one back. As I go to look away, I can't, and he starts to walk over. As he gets closer I start to realise how gorgeous he is! "You okay?" He asked, sitting significantly close to me in the booth.
"Yes thanks, why? Do I look awkward?" I asked back, feeling my cheeks flush.
"Nah, you just looked lost over here by yourself! Is that your mate then?" He said, pointing over to Cara, who is now dancing with the blonde boy she was flirting with earlier.
"I mean, yes she is!" I replied, cringing at her dance moves. "And I'm guessing that's your friend?" I said looking directly at them.
"Yeh, that's Jack though, and he's cool so I'm sure they're fine together!" He said, chuckling at himself, it was quite cute. "So what's your name then?" He asked taking another sip out of his drink.
"Laura! And you?"
"Joe!" He said, looking directly into my eyes.
"Nice to meet you Joe!" I said, smiling right back at him
