Wnet to launch girl-group fostering variety show 'Idol High'
Wnet is preparing yet another girl group trainee show.
According to insiders, Wnet is planning a girl group fostering program titled 'Idol High'. The show will handle training the idol group and debuting them, but the format will be different from 'Produce 51'.
Idol High is a girl group survival program inspired by both Produce 101 and Idol School. Through this program, students are trained to improve their vocal, rap and dance abilities and are expected to face off in various missions. Viewers and fans are able to vote for the final lineup which will be promoting for 5 months. The show is hosted by Choi Minho from SHINee, also the homeroom teacher of the students.
An insider said, "Detailed plans are already finished. It's being anticipated for the second half of 2017, so the staff are working hard in preparation."
