My heart drops. A camera gets close up to my face and everyone turns to look at me. It's clear now that the whole of Panem knows I am the female tribute. "Primrose? Where are you dear?" I hear Effie Trinket say. I slowly walk up to a gangway, look around and walk down to the stage. "Prim!" I hear. I turn around and see Katniss stood there, about 10 foot away. "Prim!" she tries to run towards me but Peacekeepers pounce on her. "Katniss!" I shout. "I volunteer!". I am now completely astonished at how she volunteers to take my place. "I volunteer, I volunteer" she says repeatedly. "No!" I scream. "Katniss!". Effie turns and speaks to one of the other people on the stage. "It seems we have a volunteer!" says Effie. I am still absolutely astonished that my sister has taken my place in the games. I can't help but scream "No Katniss, don't!" She walks up to the stage and Gale pulls me away over to the barriers. "Our male tribute is..." I hear Effie say, but I am to upset to care. "Peeta Mallark" I hear. "I don't want Katniss to take my place" I say. "I know" says Gale, "But I can't stop her now" he continues. He gives me a hug and pulls me out of the square, forgetting that he is supposed to stay there until the Reaping is over, but he doesn't care. I can't help thinking what if she dies? Gale takes me into the Reaping Center near the square, about 5 minutes away in fact, and sits me on a chair. The room is a huge, rectangular room with 5 black chairs, a desk and plain, white walls. He walks over to the desk and writes something down. We sit for about 20 minutes, and somebody walks out and she is wearing a green wig, a white shirt and a purple skirt that is about knee height. She has white face-paint on and bright pink lipstick and she is a really pretty thing, she is about 28 years old and she shouts "Primrose Everdeen and Gale Hawthorn?" by now there is about 12 people in the waiting room, mostly stood up, people look around and then realise it is me. Somebody sits there and gasps and whispers "You let you sister die for you? Horrible little girl!" she says. "Shut up you evil witch" I hear Gale say and she soon shuts up. The lady walks us into a long corridor, again with white walls that seem to go on for miles, but its my imagination. She says "In there please" and we walk in, and she stops Gale from coming in, and I run over to Katniss, and give her a big hug. "Promise. You will win?" I say. "I can't...", I don't know what she is going to say next, but I stop her in her tracks, "promise!" I say, with a tint of anger in my voice. She looks at me and says "I promise, I will try" with emphasis on the try. "Deal?" she speculates. "Deal" I reply with a little bit of sarcasm in my voice. "Here, have this. You need it more than I do" and un-pin the mockingjay she gave me earlier. She gives me a little smile, and I know she can't refuse it. She pins it to her dress and a Peacekeeper comes in and says "Times up". I give Katniss a hug and walk out, when I get to the Peacekeeper, I turn and smile at Katniss. Gale walks in and I have no idea what happens with them two, I swear they love each other. I start to walk down to the bottom of the corridor when I see the Baker walking down the corridor that I came down. But wait, isn't that the Female Corridor? With Katniss? And, isn't the Baker Peetas father?
