Vesper's Point Of View

I woke up to bright lights flashing in my face. I squinted my eyes, as the smell of antiseptic, bleach, and disinfectant bombarded my nostrils. Ugh, I'm in the nurses office. I think in annoyance. But wait, how did I get here? "I brought you here." Says Nya, reading my mind. "Oh, how long was I out?" I asked sitting up and adjusting my shirt. "Few hours. Ms.Payne let me stay here with you because she knows that I'll lock up for her." He says with pride. I only nodded, zoning out from his incessant chattering. I sat thinking about the way I felt before I passed out, trying to figure out what caused it. Then all of a sudden it came to me, that man that I had seen the other day. He said that we would keep in contact, maybe he was watching me. I shook my head slightly, trying to clear the jumble of thoughts that were swarming in mind. I sighed and started to walk towards the door, only to have Nya grab my hand, "Hey, where are you going?" He asked with a slight pout on his full lips. "Um, home." I said. "Oh.." He said. His face was void of emotion, but his eyes said more than enough to know what was wrong with him. "Do you wanna come over for dinner Nya?" I asked with a soft smile.  His eyes little up at my words like he had just won the lottery. "Well, come on then." I say, as I turn to walk out the door, but he swiftly grabs my hand and slips the door open. We walked out of the school hand and hand talking about things that randomly popped into his mind. I pulled out my phone and saw that I had like seven text messages from my parents each. I stood answered them all with an I'm okay. and I'll be home in a few. They responded not even seconds later. I put my phone in my back pocket and turned back to Nya. "Did you also know that cats are the cutest things ever!" He exclaimed, twirling around. I honestly wondered if he was gay. "I'm gay!" He yelled, his arms above his head. "What?" I said, a bemused look in my face. "Well, I'm happy. Gay means happy. Duhhh." He said in an annoyed way. I just chuckled and kept walking. "What is it with you and cats?" I asked raising my eyebrow. He suddenly stopped all movement, and looked at me with his head tilted to the side, and a confused look on his face. At that moment I realized he resembled a cat, the way his head tilted, and the look in his eyes. "I just like them.." He whispered in a hurt tone. I just nodded and we continued to walk, but now there was an errie silence that settled over us. I was looking around the streets, and then I noticed a shadow or a figure. "Hey Nya.." I said trying to whisper. "Yeah?" He said, his hands I'm his pockets as he strolled ahead of me casually. "Look behind you and tell me what you see." I told him. He turned around, his violet colored eyes landing on me, then flickering to the forest. "I see a curvy woman, with nice, round and perky breasts. I also see..-" I cut him off before he could finish, my cheeks aflame with blush. "Nya! I meant in the tree lines!" I said in a hushed whisper so whomever it was in the tree line couldn't hear me. Nya smirked amused at my displeasure for him checking me out. He then turned his head and looked about the trees. He squinted and then his body stopped moving. He started to shake in fear. But fear from what? "We have to go now." He said firmly, his eyes hardening, no longer holding that playful gleam that they once and usually had. He gripped my forearm and hauled me home. I turned and looked behind me and the shadow was gone. I frowned and turned back around and saw that we were approaching my house quickly. I unlocked the door and stepped inside, "Mom! I'm home!" I yelled closing the door and putting the keys on the coffee table. To my surprise there was no answer. "Weird..She's usually here.." I mumble and walked into the kitchen. On the counter was cookies and milk. I frowned confusedly and waved my hand over the top of the cookies. Still warm..She must have been here then. I walked upstairs and checked her room, but it was made like it was this morning. Her room smelled like warm vanilla and spices. My phone then vibrated, I take it out of my back pocket and see I have a text from an unknown number.

Unknown: Looking for mommy?

Confused I type back quickly with a reply.

Um, who are you? My phone vibrated not even a second later.

Unknown: If I told you then it would be no fun. Now would it? By the way you looked absolutely divine today. ;)

I received the message and started to panic. H-how does he know this? Nya was peering over my shoulder reading. He snatched my phone from me and his fingers flew over the touchscreen keyboard. He then handed it back to me. "What did you do?" I asked. "Blocked the number. So where's your parents?" He asked, looking around my parents room in boredom. "At work I would assume.." I muttered. I then walked out of their room with Nya trailing me and into my own. He flopped onto my bed and picked up one of my chibi plushie dolls. It was a stitch doll with raven hair, red button eyes and a sewed Chelsea smile. It wore a black corset and a blood red skirt that hung a bit when you picked it up. "Hey! Don't touch that!" I yelled frantically, and quite annoyed with him fingering with my possessions. He dropped my doll back on my bed and looked up at the ceiling. My room was painted black and blood red and gold. My comforter was black with gold and red stitching and my sheet was blood red. I had black throw pillows and a few red ones. There was a small black wooden desk in the corner of the room with a black Mac book on it along with a small desk lamp. I had red and black curtains on my windows and my carpet was black as well. Some would say that I was a goth, but that is not the case. I just think that black, red, gold, and purple are the best colors in the world. "Nice room.." Nya mumbles and yawns stretching his long limbs. "I guess I'll be making dinner tonight. Unless, you want to order in?" I asked , but he was sound asleep cuddling with my Andy Biersack plushie. I smiled at how cute and adorable he looked. His purple hair in his face, so I moved it, caressing his cheek lightly. So cute. I thought. I turned off my light and walked to the end of the hallway, about to step down on the step when I see the man from the other day standing at the bottom of the staircase. He had a smirk on his face as he watched me. My face was one of shock. I gritted my teeth, my eyes flitting to the baseball bat sitting in the hallway. Why it was in the hall I didn't know. I looked back at him as hr followed my gaze. I quickly grabbed the bat and leaped down the whole staircase, bat raised, and ready to swing. He stood there and started laughing darkly. Like you know that laugh when the other person knows something that you don't and it could either kill you or help you in some way? Yeah, he was laughing at me like that. I flew through the air and swung. 16 years of baseball seemed to pay off as I swung and landed the blow to his head. He grunted and fell with me on top of him. I used the bat and held it up to his neck choking him. "How did you get into my house?" I spat. He just smirked and kicked me off of him effortlessly. I flew into the wall, my head smashing into it and him standing and looming over me with a dark smile.

A/N: Hey, sorry I havent updated in a while. I just got through with my dance recital and my body hurts like hell. Anyway, I don't mean to offend any Gothic people or anything. I simply thought that the term was fitting seeing as most people are so stereotypical about that.
