I don't know why sometimes we seem so apart. Sown together with a broken heart. Try to see you but it's getting dark.

He decided to stay in the area for a while, making me feel like he was really trying this time.

"I have socks just like those." He commented while we were sitting in my kitchen having lunch.

"That's cool." I smile at him. "I guess we've still got some things in common."

He smiled back and said, "Hey, there's this movie that's playing this evening that I think you'd like. Would you be up for seeing it?"

"I don't really have the money to go to the movies right now." I sigh.

"I'm paying." He buts in. "I wouldn't last minute ask you to a movie and then leave you to pay for yourself."

"Oh, thanks." Before he would have made me pay for myself.

After the movie we decided to go to the mall. We both had things we needed to look for, so we split up for a while.

But when met back up he had something from a store he didn't mention having to go to. "What's that?" I ask, wondering what else he got.

"I walked past this store that had a lot of collectible things and I saw this," He says, pulling out a limited edition of my favorite album, "And I knew you probably weren't able to afford it, so I thought I should get it for you."

"Oh my god, you didn't have to do that for me!" I'm shocked he thought to get it for me.

"I wanted to." I played that album all the way back to my house.

A couple of days later, when I came home from work, I found him cooking dinner for the two of us. "What is that? It smells so good!" I ask, peaking my head into the kitchen as a timer goes off.

"Lasagna, your favorite." He says, taking it out of the oven and showing it to me.

"Dude, I can't believe you remembered how much I love lasagna."

"That's not something I would forget." He smiles, grabbing out the plates and silverware.

He serves the both of our food and then we head to the living room to watch a movie. "What do you want to watch?" I ask, turning the tv on.

"Whatever you want to watch is fine with me." He shrugs.

"So you'd be fine with watching a rom-com?" I joke.

"As long as it's not too cheesy, we'll be fine."

"You're being really nice lately." I comment, not being used to seeing him this kind.

"I've always been nice."

No you haven't, is what I wanted to say.
