Meet Me - Editor Sakina

Hey, everyone! 🙆 *waves* My name is Sakina and I'm an editor for this wonderful community. This is the first time that I'm part of something big and I'm really excited. ❤

Here's a little about me:

Name: Sakina, it's derived from the Arabic word which means peace. I love finding out the meaning of names.

Age: 21 (I'm still 15 in my mind.😛)

Nationality: Indian

I gave my final year exams (college) and I'm waiting for my results currently. I have done BA (Bachelor of Arts) in English Literature and I loved studying its subjects.

I've two pet lovebirds named Mumu and Lulu. I love them so much. Mumu, the male lovebird, was hand-raised by me. We had brought him home last year when he was three-weeks-old.

I write books on Wattpad. My main account is SakinaNasir5253. I've written two novels:

1. The Serpent Within is a Fantasy and is completed. This was my first book on Wattpad, my first attempt at writing a novel. If I can describe it in a few words, I'd say: a serpent-princess unaware of her identity, gets kidnapped by someone.

2. The Alien Memory👽 is a Teen Fiction and is ongoing. If I can describe it in a few words, I'd say: twin sisters claim to know their school's ice king. The question rises: whether they truly know him or not?

I also write articles (mostly on lovebirds) for a website called HubPages. If you wish to read any of my articles, feel free to PM me on my main account SakinaNasir5253.

Among my articles, there's one called "How To Overcome Shyness". This article helps people to get rid of shyness. I've written it from my personal experience and I want to help as many people as I can.

Extreme shyness is bad. It pulls you into continuous, harsh self-criticism, attacks your self-esteem and hinders you from being the self you wish to be. Through my writing, if I'm able to help even one of you, it will be an honor.

I love reading books and have been reading since I was ten-years-old. My favorite authors are Agatha Christie and Enid Blyton. I really love their works.

Last year, I was engaged to my boyfriend whom I met on Facebook almost four years back. Yes, online love does exist, we're in a long-distance relationship since three years.

Lastly, I love helping people, not just with their writing. It can be any matter. If you need someone to talk to, you can always PM me.

If you need a friend, I'm here and I'd love to make you my friend. I value friendship a lot because I've not made that many friends in my life due to my extreme shyness in high school.

Lastly, I've to say this. I think I've Grammatical Pedantry Syndrome: an OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) which urges me to correct whatever mistakes that I find. Some people may find it annoying (I do too at times), but I take it in a good way because mostly people are happy to learn from their mistakes (including me). We learn from our mistakes, that's how we grow.
