The trip to the Capitol -
We get on the train in silence, we sit until we are almost there then I interrupt our mentor and state the thing on my mind ever since the moment I found out it was him. "We are going to partner up but in the end which of us will live?" they fall silence, so I repeat myself with more anger in my voice now. Our Mentor, Jenius Tecker fills the silence "We will have to wait and see, I haven't seen your skills either of you could die in the blood bath" Cato flexes his muscles in his arms and then I slap him done and throw a knife so it hits the picture of President Snow in the heart. Babbis gasps then lectures me on how rude that is and I just go back to ignoring them and make eye contact with Cato and I know we are thinking the exact same thing.
The Devious smile crosses my lips, and fades quickly only Cato notices. We will make it, we will make it to the end and we will start off in the career pack as many tributes from District Two do. I know can win but I'm done with this boring meal so I throw my fork and knife on my plate and walk away, not caring what anyone thinks of my manners. I stomp down the hall to my room and lay on my bed crying thinking about what if I do die in the blood bath. The terror, the tragedy, I really need to train hard at training. I quickly fall asleep, and then I am awaken when Babbis comes in shouting "Get up we don't need you to get dressed and cleaned for the parade."
The Capitol -
I realize that we must be at the Capitol, so I jump out of bed and get dressed in a simple green blouse with boot cut jeans. Then race to eat breakfast where I shovel down some bacon and eggs. Then the train is slowing down so I run to the window where the Capitol's citizens are waving and cheering as we arrive so I start waving. I look to my right where Cato is doing the same thing; it looks like we're going to have some sponsors. Our train finally comes to a complete stop so we run to the doorway where we can here the cheering and we a group of Peacekeepers guides us behind into some building, I have no idea where we're going but probably going to get ready into our parade costumes. I am hurried along to this place called the remake center, where they wax, shave, and pluck, to 'beatify us'. We are supposed to look perfect before our designer dresses us and applies our make-up.
My hair is finely combed and I get to see myself in the mirror, I am so happy I look gorgeous! Then my designer, Lia is brought into my room; she is dressed like she lives in the Capitol, wild. She is wearing neon tights with a short denim skirt and a tight top that is like glowing, her make-up is crazy with highlights and stuff but fortunately her hair is sane just chestnut brown. She mutters things like 'I'm glad I got her, there is so much worse' or 'Oh Lia that's too much' or 'where did I put that pink lip stick' I really don't mind but I'm so excited to see my dress or at least hope it's a dress. She walks out and comes back with come that says 'Garment bag' on its tag so I think it's a dress. She tells me to close my eyes and helps me dress.
I open my eyes to the most gorgeous dress I have ever seen, the blue ribbon along the top of the white silk with a beautiful blue belt made of like this plastic thing that I don't know the name of. The bottom flows out it is gorgeous! "I love it, Lia you did amazing! What is Cato wearing?" She has a sneaky grin "That will be a surprise, come on get ready you will going to the waiting room in like -" she checks her watch " fifteen minutes. Come on" She shuffles me off towards stage but I have trouble walking in these high heels. I see Cato and I recognize what he's wearing, a Peacekeeper uniform. I shuffle over where we get into our chariot together and hold hands. Lia runs over just before we are about to take off and wraps another belt around my waist and look down, a belt of plastic knives.
