Chapter 1 (not edited)
I step out of my car and walk towards the school with my head down. It's the start of a new year and im not looking forward to it. The first person to greet me is Alicia, my best friend from middle school. "So how's your first day of junior year?" she asked with a little too much pep.
"Just about as good as any day in hell is." Ive never really been the one to wake up excited about going to school. But then again who is?
"Well who peed in your cornflakes this morning." Alicia giggles at her sarcastic remark. I just roll my eyes and look at my schedule. Great first class is weight training. No better way then to spend every morning of my first semester getting hot and sweaty with a bunch of freaking girl who act like they like you. Yay! As I walk toward the gym with my head down I bump into someone. "Whoops. Sorry abo..." I'm cut off by a very charming and unfamiliar face. As I study the very very hot complex only mere inches from myself I start to blush. "Do I know you?"
"I don't think so. I'm new here. My name's Tyler. Tyler Wright And yours is?"
"Ava Grace Lee. Do you know where you are going?"
"No. Not really." he chuckles giving me his schedule. Turns out he has PE for first block. So we are going to the same place
"Here. Let me show you around."
As we slowly start walking down the hallway it seem like more people are staring at me then usual.
'They aren't staring at you they are staring at that hot guy walking beside you.' The voice in my head screams.
No he's not that hot. Wait who am I kidding he's gorgeous. Ok stay cool Ava. Make conversation.
"Soo... Where did you move here from?"
"California." I almost spit out the water I had just taken a sip of.
"California? You moved here. Out of all places you move to Georgia from California?"
"Haha yeah. I've lived here when I was younger but when my dad got a new job we had to back up and move to LA."
Did he just say he lived here before? I surely would remember a face like that.
"You lived here before?"
"Well not her in Atlanta. But up a little ways on Lake Burton. It wasn't a very big town. Couple thousand and that's all." My mouth was hanging. Wide open. This guy who is extremely attractive used to live within a 5 mile radius of me and I never knew. Wow. I'm in complete shock. "What is it. You look like you've just seen a ghost." After that comment I could feel the blush set in.
"Oh it's nothing. Just that my family has a house on Burton and we've been going there every summer since I was 2."
As we arrived in the gym I could feel all eyes on me. Candie, the girl who wears clothes that are two sizes too small. Ansley, the girl who looks like her face got backed over by a semi-truck. And then there is Marissa, the queen bitch who thinks she is better than everyone. As they girls stare at Tyler I walk him over to Coach Young, the only teacher I don't hate. As he smiles and nags at me about my bright shirt I'm wearing I go up and give him a hug. "Long time no see AG." He says as I take a step backwards. " I know it's been awhile. How's the baby?" "Oh, she's good. Keeping me up at night but she's good. And who is this?"
"I'm Tyler Wright." as he reaches out to shake hand I notice a scar on the inside of his arm. I wonder where that might have came from. Just then the first bell ring telling us to get to the bleachers. I point to the group of boys on the opposite side of the gym all of them huddled in a group. Jack, Kaleb, and Corey are all talking to each other. Then I see Adam. The biggest douche in school. Suddenly He looks my way and makes eyes contact. I quickly look away towards the basketball net. Tyler is making his way over to the bleachers and there is no doubt in my mind that all of the will like him. I mean what's not to like. Just as Coach Young starts to call roll the speaker comes on. "Coach Young?" an old woman's voice enters the room from the ceiling. "Yes ma'am" Coach Young responds rolling his eyes. "I need Ava Grace Lee to the front office please." Oh shit. What have I done now.
