Mom, you are a rock,
Always there for me,
Supporting me when I need it most,
Allowing me to lean on you.
Mom, you are a tree,
Your branches sheltering me from even the worst of storms,
Protecting me from the howling winds,
The battering rain,
The frigid snow and ice,
But all the while,
Letting sunshine stream through your vast green leaves.
Mom, you are a river,
Your clear water flowing fast,
Giving love, peace, hope, and harmony,
To all who take a sip of your life giving waters.
Mom, you are a mountain,
Your high peaks proving just how strong one woman can be,
Giving others the courage to be strong too.
Mom, you are a cloud,
Raining on us all,
Giving us sweet water,
The water that we all need to survive.
Mom, you are a summer storm,
Your thunder earsplitting,
Your lightning a blinding flash,
Your rain pummeling the earth beneath you,
Terrifying all who dare hurt your loved ones.
Mom, you are the wind,
Howling across the land,
Pushing away the dark clouds of gloomy days.
Mom, you are a tropical island,
Your sand hot beneath my feet,
Your fresh spring water cool on my tongue,
Your palm trees tall to shelter me from the storms of life,
Giving me a home.
Mom, you are a lake,
Letting others relax on your shore,
And swim in your cool water.
Mom, you are a gentle breeze,
Bringing fresh new air,
Smelling of wildflowers,
And the promise of a better tomorrow.
Mom, you are an eagle,
Soaring in the heavens,
Carrying me upward on gentle wings,
Showing us that we can be brave,
Showing us that we can all fly.
Mom, you are the leaves on a tree,
Whispering in the wind,
Telling stories,
Of the past,
Of the present,
And of a better future.
Mom, you are a cave,
Your mouth yawning wide,
Your sandy hollow cozy and warm,
I know that I will always be able to find shelter within.
Mom, you are a bear,
Teaching me,
Feeding me,
Protecting me fiercely from all harm.
Mom, you are a tall pine tree,
Standing vigil on the hillside,
Always watching over me,
To warn me of danger.
Mom, you are the snow,
Providing me with a blanket,
To protect me,
To shield me from the harsh winter world outside.
Mom, you are a crackling flame,
Burning bright,
A place that I can always go,
To warm up,
To seek shelter,
To find the warmth of love.
Mom, you are a weed,
People can crush you,
People can cut you,
People can burn you,
people can squash you,
But you will only grow back stronger than before.
Mom you are the sun,
Warming the earth with love,
Helping others grow.
Mom, you are a flower,
Beautiful,
Inside and out,
Precious and rare,
You have taught me the true meaning of beauty,
The very definition of beauty begins with the word: MOM.
