Armani POV
(Pic of Armani🔝)
"Your high school years are going to be the years you look back on fondly." They say. Only the "cool kids" can relate to that. They can brag to their kids when they get older about how high school were the best years of their lives. I'm Armani, a junior but this is my second high school. I live in Phoenix, Arizona. This is the 4th place we've lived in this year and it's August. I actually like Ms.Irene she treats us like family.

Me and my little sister are in the system. My parents died when I was younger, car crash. Now it's just me and my little sister Destiny. They split us up but I still see her every now and then. She usually gets picked on in school. She's 13 in 8th grade. I usually get in trouble for fighting only when I have to.

People don't like me, I don't fit in cause I'm not what you call "thick." they talk about me behind my back. I don't fit it. I don't want to. I don't wanna be a brain dead pretty girl or a teachers pet cheerleader. I wanna be me, Armani Jae Briggs. You also have to be careful about who you talk to and what you say to them.

My foster sister, Sariah. She's the biggest brat. I wanna drag her through the whole damn house. most foster families don't treat you the same as their own. Not the Same as mine. Today is Monday, second week of school, another day of hell.

I turned my alarm off and got up and turned on the light. "Sariah wake up." I said. She groaned and flipped over to go back to sleep. I rolled my eyes cause I really did not have time for this today. I got an outfit together and put it on my bed. I got my towel and got ready for a shower.

I went downstairs to get my self something to eat. I got done a few minutes later. I came upstairs to get my stuff for my shower. I headed towards the shower and heard water running.

I knocked on the door. "Do you not hear me in here." I heard Sariah's voice. I'm really tired of her bullshit. I swear imma drag her one of these days and I'm not playing. I went to the room and laid on my back. A few minutes later she came out.

I mugged tf outta her soul. I kept walking to the bathroom and took my shower. I got out, lotions my body and got dressed. I put on my huaraches and went to the bus stop. She stood there with me, I tried to ignore her stare.

I looked at her and she looked me up and down and looked away. I rolled my eyes. The bus came and I sat towards the front. I could hear Sariah and her friends talking about me. I put on my headphones and ignored it. We got to school and I went to my first class.

I haven't been to this class before (because I missed the first two days of last week and we have block days.) I looked around to see who was in my class. No one I knew from middle school. I took a seat in a empty back row by the door.

The bell rang. I put my bag behind my chair and got ready for this 1 hour and 20 minute long class. Then I seen Travis walk in. See now last year when I transferred to my other school Travis was the cutest boy there but he's really quiet.

I didn't really have a crush on him until I caught him always staring at me. I always saw him around that school but we didn't have any classes. And neither of us ever made a move. Summer comes and I forget all about him.

But now, he came back finer than ever. He goes on the other side of the room towards the front of the room. "So who wasn't here last class." I raised my hand and I saw Dominic raise his hand.

I don't think he even noticed me yet, not even a glance I don't even think he remembers me. The teacher goes to put us in the right seat. Travis was already in the right seat and guess what happened next. I get seated right next to him.
