I ran home as quickly as my legs could carry me which, actually ......was pretty fast. I must have been going so fast that upon reaching home, I literally ran into the door and broke it. It was smashed to pieces on the floor and I ended up on the living room floor after I ran smack into our brick walled kitchen.

I groaned in pain as I heard hurried footsteps come down the stairs to stop on my right. I sat up and rubbed my sore head as I felt my mother crouch beside me. I though she was going to ask me how I had broken our front door when suddenly, I was hoisted up onto my feet.

Of course, that was a bad idea because I soon started to sway as my vision blurred for just a minute.

"Zarlula, you have to go now," Mum said with an anxious voice. I turned to her as my head finally settled and what did she do? She just shoved a black bag pack and an aviator's jacket to me.

"But mum, you were suppose to explain something to me, Leyona said..."

Suddenly we both heard growls and snarls from the front of our home. My mum turned to the front door and gasped. She then pushed me through the kitchen towards the backdoor," Zarlula!  If there ever was a time to listen to me, it would be now. You must go!"

Normally I would rebel against her like any other day but the look on her face convinced me to be reasonable. I quickly on the jacket and backpack without heist.

"Where do I go?" I asked with as she drew two swords from their sheaths around her waist.

"Into the forest, get to the oak tree that you use to go and play near when you were little."

I nodded picturing the tree that stood near the wildlife sanctuary,it use to be my favourite place to be when I was younger.

My mother turned to give me a kiss on my forehead and she whispered," You have to leave before they find you."

So for the second time today I ran ,leaving behind another person that I loved.

As I opened the backdoor and ran, the last I saw of my mother was the sight of her  preparing to fight something that had crashed through our living room window.

I ran through the yard and quickly jumped over our fence, which actually was quite an achievement for me considering I lacked the basic skills to do anything athletic in the  past.

Running through the forest and jumping over tree roots was not how I imagined spending the afternoon of  my last day of school but beggers can't be choosers. The sun was setting so there was some light shining through the trees and the wildlife was settling down for the night.

Now that I think about it, where am I suppose to sleep tonight? At the tree?! Too many things ran through my mind but thankful after running for a full twenty minutes, I finally reached the tree.

Now you should know that running is exhausting so naturally I want to catch my breath but that was just another reason the fates needed to screw up my day.

Loud howls were heard from behind me so I turned around, silently hoping  not to see a pack of wolves and instead.......let's just say it was something way worse.

There are a lot of ways to die and I can tell you that this was not the way I would want to die. Four huge horse size dogs with jagged teeth and ugly faces were running towards me and, let me tell you, they looked hungry. And thus we have come full circle from the beginning.

I am going to die.

They were coming very fast and the ground shook as they ran. I gasped and took a step back my hands reaching behind me to grasp anything to stable me. In a flash of blue light, I fell backwards through the trees behind me and into a tunnel of blue and golden lights.
