Alex obviously went with the plan and decided to get him later in the day. He needed to go to his classes later anyways so he pushed the many plans he had to get him back and walked to his first class.

Walking to the library, Alex saw Hercules and Lafayette laughing and making jokes. They are oblivious to their feelings for each other. Seems like when he saw them their faces went blank and went to pitying. Of course, they knew about it.
They noticed he wasn't really hanging with him since he looks more presentable than usual. If he was with him he would have baggy eyes and more of a tired look for talking to him all night.

Best excuse for him to have explained why he has this look is being more out and shopping. Never in a million years would they believe that but it was worth a shot
"guessing you and Laurens got into an argument huh?"
Hercules smirked knowing this 'fighting' thing was constant. He wasn't wrong but it was more than just an argument.
Alex looked down and smiled the fakest smile he could get out
"I'm fine"

Alex left them finally and saw Jefferson.
At the wrong time.
Jefferson was always the commanding one in classrooms back in high school. He had a short temper too so he was basically a walking ticking bomb. If someone were to light the flame he would either
Explode
Light the flame on the other person before he goes off
Or storms off to who knows what
After a while, he comes back still mad but calmer than usual. No one knew what he did to cool himself down. They only knew that it happened way back in the darkest part of the forest up the hill from the high school over the flower field. They wouldn't check considering if they did Jefferson would deck them.
Alex found Jefferson in the distance in the forest that separates the campus and the high school.
He heard the most beautiful voice he'd heard. He only remembers hearing it in his freshman year in some recording he heard over a group of sophomores
Alex was shocked because he believes that its Jefferson singing (I'm losing motivation)
Walking closer and closer increases the singing and all Alex sees is Jefferson swinging and swaying side to side and singing.
