The dark windy gusts blew hard in the cold air. My hair moved slightly and my jacket collar kept getting in my mouth.

The man I had been eyeing for a while had finally turned and shut the door to his apartment. He was probably about to eat dinner.

My body slipped through the slightly ajar window. As my feet landed gently on the floor I caught the smell of chicken being baked.

"Mom It's on!"
I heard in one room to my left. Through the crack of the door I saw the woman, the man, and the child all staring at the TV. "Michael Jones a well know specialist from Hardy Industries is in morning this week as the loss of his uncle makes headlines all over the city. He died in a tragic accident this morning when he was found by his grandson dead in his living room. Police are investigating the murder."
My eyes filled with tears.
"Marty..." I said
The family jolted up and looked my way.
The darkness of the hallway just barely kept me hidden from there sight.
"Who's there!?"
I slowly walked backwards until I reached the window. The man then made his way slowly across the kitchen. When I finally began to unlock the rest of the window I realized he could see my silhouette due to the setting sun. He quickly grabbed his gun and began to cock it. I did my best to get the window open but my hands continued to slip.
Finally opening the window I jumped out just before being shot. Good thing I got a Wallet out of this.

When I finally landed on the next building I was in shock. Marty was dead. Millions of questions string through my mind but question number one was who did it. After that I wondered why they would do it. Marty was the sweetest man I have ever met he was even nice to me and I certainly did not deserve it. I came into this All new. Marty was the one that convinced Michael and the others to let me stay after trying to steal something from him. It's not that I was concerned I wouldn't be taken care of I knew Michael and Jennifer cared about me a lot but it still hurt. I didn't have anyone like Marty when I was out with my family and when I left I didn't expect anyone like Marty
Now he's gone. What am I going to do? What I always do, learn to live with it...

People like Michael, Jennifer and Marty are the kind of people that dress up to save the world. But I'm not a superhero, I'm just a cat burglar and Marty couldn't see that when he was the sweetest blind man I have ever met.
