"Ella, your visions are not killing people. It's not possible." Alice said though she didn't look too certain.
"What do you call it then? First my grandpa, then Stacy and-"
"Ella, breathe. I refuse to believe that you are killing people just because you see parts of their pasts. Maybe you see their past because they are going to die, but you can't be the cause." Alice said from across the table "Now, let's talk about something less depressing okay?"
I nodded and she smiled, and for the rest of the hour Alice tried talking me into a makeover and I steadily refused. I wasn't letting anyone near my head with a curling iron (left over fear from a painful burn from one of Stacy's slumber parties when I was twelve.
When the bell rang I put my book away and stood up. I had LMC (Library Media Center) helper as my next class... Basically you just sit behind the desk and check books in and out or put books back on their shelves.
"Bye Alice" I said waving
"See you in art Ella; I have the same class as you."
"Oh, cool I'll see you then."
I walked out of the cafeteria and up the stairs to the second floor. As I got there I looked in through the window and watched as Mrs. Bernard showed Emmett how to use the computer to check things in and out. I walked in and sat my back pack down next to the door with all the other ones.
"Oh Ella you're just in time" Mrs. B said looking over at me as I walked up to the counter. "This is Emmett Cullen, Emmett this is Ella Weston."
"Hey, yeah we have English and math together" Emmett said with a big grin,
"Yeah we already met, Kind of" I said smiling back at him shyly.
"Well Ella when you left I didn't have a replacement for you so I had Becky taking care of a few things and I would take care of everything else but she was sent to military school about two months ago and I was lost again. Then Emmett's family came to town and, well the rest is self-explanatory. Only I never got around to showing him how to use the computer until today." Mrs. B took a deep breath and grinned "Now you're here and you can show him the rest of this. I leave him in your capable hands."
"Uh, thanks Mrs. B, I won't let you down." I muttered with a smile. Mrs. B turned and walked into her office and gently closed the door.
"Did she show you how to shelve?" I asked looking directly at him for the first time. And I just stopped and stared, I jerked my gaze away from him. Oh my Lord, the guy was seriously hot! I looked back up and noticed that he was really grinning now.
"I was a helper in the last school I was in, I know how to shelve but I wouldn't mind if you show me again." I blushed and his grin doubled in size.
"Um every library has a different system, or at least that's what Mrs. B tells me." I thought about it for a minute then said "Then again Mrs. Barnard thinks her library is the most advanced high school library in the country and I doubt that's true."
"Shows that she is loyal to what's hers... Back at my last school the librarian didn't really like her job; she just worked there because she couldn't get a job at the public library. She wasn't very fun to be around "
"To be honest, you don't look like the book loving type" I said with open curiosity
"Really? So what type do you think I am?"
"Um I'd say football; you definitely have the muscles to play football."
"But not basketball? I'm tall enough for that"
