The professionally dressed man walked through the wide doors of the lab, wearing an ominous blank stare. The room was filled with people young and old, all seemingly frantic to finish their various experiments.
"Silence."
A few scientists looked up from their papers, only to resume their work moments later in fear of running out of time. The room was still as loud as ever, glass tubes clinked against each other, oddly colored substances bubbled and eventually overflowed, only causing more chaos.
"I said, SILENCE!"
The room was suddenly devoid of sound, other than a few stray test tubes knocking together. The analyst's finally paid attention to the man, turning towards him.
"Psychology is no longer a vital area of study to the United States. The human brain is not worthy of examination, much less an entire area of study."
The man began to walk around the room, looking at the large binders sitting on the tables, chock full of data and lab reports like filth.
"As a result of this decision, all of you are now unemployed. Pack your things, we want you flesh sacks out of here by Tuesday."
The scientists froze, and began to protest.
"You can't just do that, I need this job!"
"No, this can't be happening..."
A skinny, black haired teenager stood and walked up to the man. Glaring into his cold, grey eyes.
"The human mind is an incredibly complex labyrinth of connections and memories. By destroying psychology, you are destroying the study of one of the most complex systems on planet earth."
She inched closer.
"True artificial intelligence is nothing compared the human brain."
The man grabbed the woman by the arm and threw her across the room. The sickening sound of screaming and shattered glass filled the lab. As a scientist rushed over to help the injured woman.
"Anyone else want to revolt against the words of the King?"
The scientists began to pack their things.

"Thank you, Derek."
The woman sat in the passenger seat of her coworkers Infiniti, with a blue cast covering her left arm.
"No problem, Casey."
Casey looked down at her cast, and let herself drift into deep thought.
"Derek, what's going to happen to us?"
"What do you mean?"
Tears began to fall from Casey's eyes, mascara running down her features.
"The human race has become less and less important to the world ever since the first true robot was made, Derek. What if they decide we aren't worth the time anymore, and just...get rid of us?
Derek gripped the steering wheel, and bit his lip. He sighed.
"Casey..." He pleaded. "You have to believe in the..."
Derek looked around, to check for anyone listening in.
"Momocracy."
Casey shook her head and rolled her eyes.
"The robots wouldn't want that, so it won't happen. The robots don't want us so-"
"Stop! Have hope for once, alright?"
Casey pouted.
Derek looked a bit disappointed, and continued driving, looking down the street with a cold stare.
"Look, recent advances in Technology have proven that humanity simply isn't a necessity, Casey. Our last attempt at preserving humanity is a long shot, but if it works, humanity will forever be seen as sacred and wise. We will be protected until the end of time by our own inventions, and continue to progress. Not even the gods could stop us then."
Derek's cold stare transformed into a bittersweet smile.
"Not even the gods."
