One Thing

"Emily, we're going to be late if you don't hurry your lazy ass up," I could practically see my best friend, Hailey's glare shooting at me like tiny little lasers.

Only, there was a thin layer of a door separating her from me.

Hailey and I were a "dynamic duo", if I were to only choose one phrase to describe us. We were inseparable and spent so much time together we could basically be considered sisters. However, we did have different interests, but what can I say? Opposites do attract.

For example, we were supposed to be going to a One Direction concert, even though I usually hate boy bands.  But, if I keep rambling on and on, the door separating her laser glare from beaming through me, would probably be kicked open in a millisecond.

I put on a plain grey crop top with light washed, but very ripped jeans, and headed to the bathroom. I quickly did a smoky eye and smeared on some dark reddish-brown lipstick, then rubbed some mascara on the eyelash extensions Hailey took me out to get once. I ran out the door, gathering my shiny black hair in a high ponytail.

"It took you all that time to dress like....that?", she grimaced, pointing at my clothes, as I rolled my eyes.

She herself was dressed in a white crop top with a black mini skirt and a gray cardigan. She added some black pumps as we headed out the door.
