"Mommy mommy mommy!" Corbin yelled as he ran into the kitchen.

"Corbin what's wrong?" I asked as I bent down to his 4 year old level.

Corbin wiped his tear stained face. his lip quivering and his blue eyes big and sad.

"Mommy....... Toby ripped up my painting!" he sobbed.

Toby was our 9 month old German Shepard and was Corbin's best friend.

"Awwww baby it's okay go gather your stuff and bring it in here." I said as I hugged him. Corbin left and grabbed his stuff and brought it in the kitchen. I walked to the living room to see Toby sitting on the floor his tail wagging on the hard wood floors. He had a piece of paper in his mouth and all around him was ripped up paintings and drawings that Corbin made.

"Toby, you naughty boy!" I scolded. Toby walked to me with his tail between his legs and slowly walked to me and say down with his head down.

"You bad boy you know better, now you have to go outside." I said as I grabbed his collar.

Toby whimpered as I dragged him outside.

I opened the door and put Toby outside who looked back and slowly wagged his tail as if to say 'I'm sorry.'

"Sorry Toby but you know better then to make a mess and you know what happens when your bad." I told him in a stern voice.

Toby walked away in defeat.

I closed the door and picked up the mess then went back to the kitchen.

"Hey Corbin what time is it?" I asked as I chopped up carrots.

Corbin looked at the wall clock.

"Ummmmmm it's 2:27." he said.

"And what comes on at 2:30?" I asked.

"Oh no the news!!!" He screamed as he jumped out of the chair.

He ran to me and pulled my pant leg.

"Come on mommy we can't miss it I promised daddy I would tell him the weather and news!" he said.

"Okay go get the tv on and get to the channel let me clean up." I said as I put the chopped up carrots in a pot.

Corbin ran to the living room and climes onto the couch and turned the tv on.

Everyday at 2:30 Corbin watched the news and then call his dad at work and tell him. He never misses the news and has been doing it ever since he was 2. he has never missed the news in his life.

I cleaned up and sat next to Corbin.

"Shhh it's starting!" he whispered.

'Good afternoon I'm Mary.' the lady on the tv said in her fake-news smile.

'And I'm Drake welcome to channel 12 news.' The man next to the fake lady said.

'First is the weather.' Mary said as she got up and walked to a chart of the week.

'As you can see it will be sunny for most of the week in the high 70s to low 80s, but on Monday the weather will dramatically drop to the low 40s with severe thunderstorm warnings for most of Texas.' Mary said. 'Now for sports.' she concluded.

"Mommy what's severe mean?" Corbin asked.

"Oh it means bad." I said trying to stay calm.

Corbin didn't know but there was more than a storm. At least from what I've heard from the neighborhood. This storm is supposed to be the worst storm in the history of storms. The one thing I didn't know was this storm was going to change me and my whole families life...forever.....
