Searching For Hope - Sonnet

Hope is a lost cause almost everyday.

A light in a dark room with no way out.

Holding on to dreams is the only way

Even if the only feeling is doubt

Sometimes when things are too much to handle

Doubt creeps in like a snake on a mission

Flicking back and forth like a candle

Dreams invade doubt and you keep on wishin'

The spark of a dream fans our desire

Something you do not share with another

Internal dreams are there to inspire

To share it aloud it could be smothered

And sometimes our doubt cannot be controlled

Sometimes its best that our hope is untold
