Opera POV:
"All right then, Andrew is safe and sound over at Margarets...Are you ready to go?"
Erik was stuck looking at his fixed reflection in the mirror.
"Erik!" I called over to him.
He removed his eyes from his reflection for a moment to look at me, "What is it?"
I put my hands on my hips, "At least pretend you're listening." I walked over towards him, "Will you stop playing with your face? You look fine." I fixed the collar of his shirt, then reaching for a piece of string that was threading on Danny's old shirt by his chest, "Good thing we're getting you new clothes...his weren't the best quality." I suddenly felt something behind the fabric of his shirt, "Wait...What the?"
He simply narrowed his eyes at my searching hands.
There was a noose hidden on the side of his shirt! "What the hell is this? Why do you have rope in your—?" I suddenly remembered how the phantom would strangle people. A part of me wanted to put my hand at the level of my eye now that I was standing next to him. But I shook the thought away, since he probably wasn't going to kill me, I think if he was, he would have done it already, "You don't need this." I tossed it over my shoulder. He watched it hit the floor and glared at me, "Don't give me that look!" I warned him.
"What if someone comes to attack me?"
"No one is going to attack you!"He ignored me, as always, and went to go pick up the rope, "I'm taking it." he told me.
I rolled my eyes, "Fine." I said, giving up this useless argument, "But you're going to have no use for it, and if anyone sees it they'll think you're crazy."
He let out a frustrated sigh.
I quickly put an end to it, "Erik, what did I say?"
He ignored me.
"We're trying to be friends. Because I'm tired of us always arguing," I grabbed my bag and slung it over my shoulder, "Now come on."
"Where are we going?"
"Department store." I said as we walked out of the building.
I had some money left over from my baby daddy that I refused to use. Wasting it on another man seemed like a self satisfying way of spending it.
We were back on the subway and I instantly felt the motion sickness as we were jolted forward in our seats.
I let out a deep exhale through my teeth, which didn't go unnoticed by Erik, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." I said, shaking my head.
"You have motion sickness already? We just got on."
I narrowed my eyes, "If you have a problem with it then you can suck my-"
He took my wrist in his hands.
My brows furrowed, "What are you doing?"
"By placing my fingers here," he pressed down on my wrist under my palm, "it should relieve your pain."
I relaxed my hand, after minutes of him holding my wrist, I slowly started to feel better. I narrowed my eyes at him again, "I didn't think you cared if I was in pain or not."
He looked at me, and our eyes met. That's when he quickly released my hand and placed his on his lap, "I-I don't, I just don't want to hear your insufferable whining."
I rolled my eyes, looking down at the ground again. Why would I even think that this guy could ever be friends with me? The sooner he is out of my life, the better.
