Lets start by understanding what an id is.
Id
[id] noun, Psychoanalysis.
the part of the psyche, residing in the unconscious, that is the source of instinctive impulses that seek satisfaction in accordance with the pleasure principle and are modified by the ego and the superego before they are given overt expression.
So in other words, an id is someone that is still in the first stage of psychoanalytical development and is generally predisposed to a lack of morals, a distorted view of right versus wrong, an immediate and urgent desire to have all their wants met, and most of all, they do not understand the consequences of their actions.
An id will do anything to get what they want, and because of this they will frequently ask the question "why?".
"You cannot steal the money out of a cash register at work." "Why"
"You cannot touch that girl without consent." "Why"
"You cannot blackmail your friends into getting your way." "Why"
You see, it does not matter what you try to tell an id, because an id has no sense of morals. What would you say in response to their why's, "You can't do that because it harms that person."? They don't care, they can't care. They will never be wrong because there is no wrong. See what I'm getting at?
An id has no need for money, you see. Because an id typically does not enjoy working and will not hold up a job well. Working requires work and why would you work if you could just get everything for free? Ids do not enjoy school for school also requires work and it's not worth anything. An id has no need for school, college, money, work, or anything else that may require doing something that isn't fun.
Ids love having fun, in fact it is all they will tolerate doing. If they are hungry they will steal, if they are stressed they just give up. But the most intriguing thing about an id, to me at least, is that an id does not fear the police. It's not like you could fear the police if you never did anything wrong anyway. They are incapable of understanding what a consequence is and on the chance that they are incarcerated, it wont matter because then they will get free food and TV and they will just continue on their merry way, doing exactly what they do best: Nothing.
Now, don't get me wrong, id's can do quite a lot, but that lot is usually all things that are wrong in the eyes of our society and screwing up their lives. Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Edgar and this...This is my grand project. I have spent the first few months of my 8th grade life examining a peculiar subject, let's just call him Id. Id is a kid, not much smaller than me, who manages to get himself into a whole world of trouble through his underdeveloped psyche. Now everyone else thinks he is just a rebel, but I saw something else in him. He is more than just a rebel, he is an id. Most people are uneducated in the world of psychoanalysis, but I've done my research.
You see I, myself, am a superego. Sounds cool, right? A superego is the exact opposite of an id, we rely heavily on our morals to guide us. I admit I get a bit carried away by my obsessive need to have my every decision follow my moral code. But that is what attracted me to id so much, he is my polar opposite. That is why he is my subject, to be studied from afar.
You must be thinking now, "What am I then?". Well mostly people are balanced between their id and their superego, which is seen by psychologists as the "ego". To have an ego is very good, it means that you are capable of making decisions influenced by both of your sides. Too much of either side will either lead to stress or being a criminal.
I was not really bragging earlier when I said that I was a superego, if anything I actually dread it, it's no fun being consumed by your own guilt for every mediocre decision you make. No, I don't want to be like id, but I feel like to all you superegos out there, something might be learned from him.
Now without further ado, allow me to present a few short stories I complied from my research and examinations of the boy called Id.
Enjoy~
