I opened my eyes seeing a dark shape looming over me. Large wings, the size of an elephant covered me.

"Wha-" I was startled. A shape was sitting next to me. He was an odd thing, sitting in front of me. His featured reminded me of a demon but, at the same time he looked nothing like a demon. His hair was fluffy and covered half of his face. On the other side he had two eyes, both were sea blue. He had a gray T-shirt on and ripped up jeans. His ears extended outwards like an elf, or demon.. his red and black wings were creating a circle around us. Large horns sprouted from his head as he slowly tilted his head getting a better look at me. I must look horrible. Blood gushed out of my wounds making me feel faint. I stared at my enemy not daring to go closer. I was pressed up against the edge of the warm scales on his wings.

"I'm not your enemy" he said.

"YOU CAN TALK!!" I yelled.

"Of course, all demons can talk. Some just have a distorted voice only demons can understand!"

"Oh.. WAIT- you are my enemy I was fighting you like what, what time is it. If fact what even DAY is it!!"

"You've only been asleep one day"

"AH WHAT ABOUT THE BATTLE!!!"

"I was knocked into the void moments after I caught you, I doubt the war is over and done with." He responded dryly.

"wait- where is Stinger." His looked away for a second.

"I have no clue"

I tucked my knees in holding them close to my chest. The cuts across my body stung and burned as I ignored the pain.

"We should probably treat your wounds..." he said standing up. He tucked his wings in behind him letting me see my surroundings for the first time. It was damp and the ground was rock solid. A little light shone through cracks in the wall.

"Where I am!" I called out with confusion.

"The humans call this place Earth."

Of course, this place was my home. Until I got sent to war against the demons on Reuria. It was a planet somewhere in the solar system of yuiemia. The planet itself was nothing to be proud of, the ground was rock solid and cities were rare. The climate was harsh there. Winters with enough ice to save the north pole three times over. Summers consisted of blazing sun hot enough to scorch the skin off the toughest dragon. I'm the spring rain was not uncommon. It rained about every day and brought nothing in return. Fall is almost the only normal season with icy winds that chilled you to the spine. The leave fell rather quickly due to the sharp winds and roaring dragons. The demon offered his hand to me but I brushed it off as I stood up. I shifted my foot feeling a burning feeling. I must've hurt my foot somehow. I swayed slightly as I stumbled forward. The walls echoed overlapping my steps. I had so many questions for this demon but I kept quiet staying as far away from him as my surroundings would allow. Never trust a demon. He looked over to me letting his wings hang free I'm a relaxed manner. This place looked to be some kinda place underground.

"Where are we?"

"Under a road.." he shrugged" but I really don't know where- where"

"Oh" a tiny light bore down into me as tiny cracks in the wall created patterns on the floor. I heard a slight movement of running water. In front of us lay a tiny creek under the road. We paused by it before I tore off material from my jacket using it to soak up the cold water running from the creek. I pressed it into my wounds flinching as I breathed out. I moved down to my leg seeing the large cut across my calf. I wiped away all the blood surrounding it as a new pain caused me to grit my teeth together as the cool liquid entered my cut. The demon just sat next to the creek and watched it occasionally dipping his hand in the chilly water. Once most of the blood was gone I took off my jacket saying a quick thanks for all it had done. I ripped it up using my sword cutting it into little pieces. I tied one around my leg and around my waist seeing my torn shirt at where i'd been attacked multiple time. When I got to my shoulder wound I couldn't reach back to tie it on. After a few failed attempts the demon reached over grabbing the cloth. Reluctantly I accepting his silent help I gave him the cloth. He sat on his knees tying the cloth around my shoulder knotting it tightly and firm. As soon as he finished he took a step back giving me some space with I much appreciated. We sat by the creek for a while just hearing the soothing rhythmic hum seemed to calm us both.

"So what's your name?" I asked still staring at the creek not looking at him.

"Feiren.." he responded.

"Lindy" after that it was silent and kinda awkward.

"So, what now" I asked him finally looking up. He met my gaze and shrugged. It was cold and I no longer had my jacket to protect me from the whistling wind and cold air that filled the empty place. I shivered rubbing my hands over my unarmed shoulder. My teeth chattered as I pulled my legs up proceeding to make myself as tight as possible. I felt a sudden pressure on my back as I looked up. Ferien's wing was outstretched around me. His scales radiated heat and felt warm. I pressed myself closer to the wing as warmth flooded through my body. All thoughts of Feiren being my enemy slipped through my mind. All that mattered was surviving. Feiren scooted closer wrapping his large wings around me making me feel warm and safe within his wings. A shelter, a safe haven.
