Mansion of Whispers

Hello guys! It's Kitt, and I'm here for an authors note on Mansion of Whispers. This short story was created as an assignment for ELA class, so please excuse the bold words, that was just a step to have a good grade on it. This story is a category of mystery, although I had tried to lean for horror, it happens to be that it leans more to the mysterious theme. Now, I'm going to answer a few questions that are probably lingering in your minds, so here you go!

Who was the whispering voice/shadowy figure?
It was a demonic creature that haunted the mansion, capturing and manipulating anybody who steps foot into the mansion. Normally, it wipes its victim's memories, and had them do its bidding.

Why did Steph walk into the old man's home? Well, Steph was close enough to the mansion for the demonic creature to begin mind manipulation on her, and it lured her to going inside.

Could the shadowy figure possess somebody?
Yes. In fact, during this story it had possessed the old man for a short period of time, which is why he had sounded much more youthful than he normally should.

Why didn't Steph just walk out the door?
She couldn't. The creature would've killed her on the spot.
