Twisting my combination lock, I hummed the random song that was bouncing around in my head all morning. After hearing the click, I pulled the locker open and slid my backpack off my shoulder, but as I was about to hang it up, a hand clamped onto my shoulder, scaring the ever loving shit out of me.

"Boo!" The culprit shouted, a familiar giggle following. I had jumped, the bag falling out of my hand and onto the floor. Thankfully, it was still zipped up. With a hand over my heart, I whirled around to slap Gavin on the arm with a scolding glare.

"You ass! Don't just sneak up on people." His giggles die down gradually while his grin remains on.

"Worth it!" Gaven takes off his backpack and opens up the largest pocket before reaching in. "Anyway, I've got your laptop." Pulling it out, he presents it to me, and I take it off his hands with a smile.

"Thanks. Still I can't believe I forgot it."

"Eh, don't worry about it. We were just having too much fun." Waving me off, the boy flashed his teeth in a pearly-white grin before closing his bag and throwing it back over his shoulder. "Well, I still have to get to my locker, so I'll see you in class." We exchange waves before he takes off down the hallway, moving quickly so that he'd have enough time. On a whim, I opened the lid of the computer and breathed out a laugh when I was faced with a bright yellow sticky note stuck to the middle of the screen with a poorly drawn smiley face on it. I peel it off and stick it to the inside of my locker door before hanging up my bag. I take what I need and leave the laptop inside for safe keeping before heading to class with a little pep in my step.

It's Friday which not only means the weekend is coming up, but I also get paid for my part-time job today! I know just how I'm going to spend it too, going to my all time favorite restaurant, Universal Eats. It's one of the more popular restaurants in town, best known for their wide variety of foods made with recipes from all over the world. Occasionally, they even get special, limited-time deserts. I'm always keeping an eye on their menu for something new to try out, and I go there so often the staff has even started recognizing my face... Man, I really do go there often. Might as well call it a Friday night ritual.

Oh, I bet Gaven and Matt would like to try it! I should ask if they'd like to go with me. Even more excited by the thought, I look for Gaven the second I make it to the classroom, and as usual his desk is flocked by girls. I almost sigh in disappointment. Ever since he got here, he's gotten increasingly popular with our classmates, and who could blame them, really? He's a great guy: funny, outgoing, weird in all the right ways and so on, but it makes it a little hard to talk to him in the mornings anymore. Especially when there are a lot of thirsty ass girls in this school trying to flirt with him, mainly this group of three crowding him now, and honestly, it's a little annoying.
