Your stories pestered me enough

To make me itch to meet you

They gushed about your splendor

And now my eyes water to lay it on you

Now I’m scared to find myself attuned

After I met you

What was it that mesmerized me most?

You wry smile that makes me float?

Or the angry hazel fire

You have in your eyes that make my skin roast?

The cold flashes I receive from your touch

Or the chills you sent down my spine with your clutch

I can never tell and explain why

And why my heart twist when I saw you cry

Just wanted to hold and cradle your body in this misery

Know we just met and it sounds way crazy

But maybe you should know…

I didn’t come only to see the famous you

I also came to learn you

Your fears, your dreams and all the mystery about you

ADOBEA AND OFORI COULDN’T stop pacing. It was 12 noon already and still their daughter hasn’t come out from her room. Now pacing was the least they could do since Hertty has refused to open up after several knocks.

“Dou you think we should break down the door?” Adobea asked with anticipation.

“That’s not advisable…”

“what if she’s doing something outrageous like slitting herb wrist…?

“Adobea,” Ofori said sternly. “don’t exaggerate. Stop saying such things”

His eyes drifted to the window. Shadows were casting and clouds were growing dark. There’ll be rains one these days but he wasn’t feeling the flutter he normally feels when the rain comes. He normally thinks of the seeds buried in the soil which will be sprouting soon enough but this time, the crop yielding was the last in his mind.

Finally Hertty appeared already dressed in a jean trousers and a shirt which outlined her rounded feminine figure.

Ofori and Adobea exchanged a look. The town folks would definitely make a gossip out of it. Ofori almost told Hertty to change when he decided against it. Hertty was going through a lot now to be harassed about petty stuffs like dressing. He made a mental note that the dressing could wait for now.

“Hertty dear why did you keep us hanging like that?” Adobea hugged the stiff frame Of her daughter.

Hertty drifted her gaze toward her father.”Paa, can I take your truck?”

Ofori frowned. “But why? You know I won’t allow you to take it to the roads”

“I’ll just drive around the fields”

“Where to?”

“To Mrs. Kyeremah’s house…”

“Little flower…” Ofori started.
