Today is the day that started everything to come. The day that most would remember as a curse. As for me it started as a gift. My name is Ryan Summers. And yes, my name has started more conflict than you can only imagine. I'm just an ordinary sixteen year old teenage girl, but more rough around the edges. As always, I was known to be too boyish, or not girly enough for some. I would come to school in a navy blue hoodie, vans sneakers and sweats. My dark blue hair was dyed and could almost reach my shoulders. Today I decided I'd switch it up and wear my infamous black hoodie. But computer class was starting.
"Everyone please take their seats and start logging into the computers, we have a new assignment for today's agenda." Ms. Hutchins said unenthusiastically.
I took my seat on the back row as always near the corner window isolated from everyone. I picked this elective thinking I'd learn alot, but instead it was the cool class. A class where the teacher could care less if you did the work or not. Even students who weren't assigned to the class would hangout here and skip their other classes.
"Class, today we'll be messaging other students, rather it be worldwide, or in this very classroom. Not everyone has someone to talk to and may need an outlet, or a friend. So I've downloaded the PenPal application on each desktop. Once everyone registers let me know, and each message is anonymous."
As Ms. Hutchins completed the instructions we were greeted by the class clowns. They were known as last year's "Best Couple" in the yearbook, Stacy Evans and Troy Peters. Stacy was an annoying and stereotypical blonde, and Troy was the tan fit jock every girl wanted.
"Nice of you two to come in from vacation."
Troy walked past as if nothing was said while Stacy popped her gum and flipped off Ms. Hutchins.
"Take your seats, you're interrupting those that are occupying themselves with something other than football and failing school."
"Occupy this dick," Troy yelled while sitting directly next to me.
The classroom erupted in laughter and Ms. Hutchins stood unamused. As usual, Troy had something inappropriate to say and I'd say she was immuned to it. She completely ignored his foul mouth and began explaining the instructions over to them. Stacy whispered into Troy's ear and they switched seats as if their lives depended on it.
"Sup Raisin, you gonna message someone about your boring life."
I stared at the computer screen and ignored Stacy completely as the class chuckled. It wasn't the first time she belittled me in front of everyone, but I was sure enough going to express my feelings. Even if she somehow received my anonymous message.
