Prologue

Silvery blonde hair blew in the gentle breeze, moving in a slowly around her body. The breeze was calm and cool, it felt lovely on her warm skin. She stood alone in the gardens of Meageroli, surrounded by flowers that seemed to glow in the white moonbeams and quiet creatures that hid away from the intruder, animals that had never been seen on Earth. The flowers and trees seemed to glow in the bright white moon beam. Her large silvery white eyes held a far off look as she stared into the distance. She stood still, her long robes swirling about her legs in the calm wind. A small pendant swung about her neck attached by a silver chain, it took the form of a cresent moon, a pale white color that seemed almost translucent. Suddenly she clutched at it. Her eyes grew wide and she started to tremble as her knees grew weak.

"Kaula!" her friend's, Esme and Verena called her. The protector, the defender and the prophet. The three had been born on the same day nearly three thousand years before to the Gods of the night, the day and the sky. They all had lived in the garden of Meageroli their whole lives, watching over the peaceful people of Listonia. Goddesses of equivelant beauty, grace and wisdom. Kaula with her ethereal looks could tell the future. Verena stood, tall, dark and proud. Her thick black hair fell down her back in unruly curls. Her dark eyes seemed to hold all the mysteries of the world and her flawless brown skin was soft and smooth. A white pendent in the shape of a star hung around her neck. She was wise in all her decisions. Esme was slight and pixie like. Her features were sharp and pointed. Her skin a golden brown, her hair was cut short and hit her shoulders in soft golden waves. Her eyes were as gold as the pendent that hung around her neck, the sun pendant. She was fair and just, blind to if a person was poor or rich, a slave or a master. All was fair to her.

"What is it Kaula? What have you seen?" Esme asked, fearful of the answer. Kaula had  told them of what lay in their near future. In nearly sixteen years time devestation would befall Listonia. They had thought of a way to prevent it, but it was risky and involved risking Kaula's life directly. Kaula snapped out of in and looked at Esme and Verena.

"It is time." Kaula said, her voice was soft and whisper like as usual. Esme gasped.

"You cannot mean...?" Esme started unable to finish the thought.

"Are you sure about this, Kaula? It will be hard and you will have no memories of this, you will be confused and you will not know what to do or where to start, we can only guide you, we cannot come directly to your rescue and you will not know it is us. You may not trust our signs." Verena told her.

"I am aware, but it must happen to ensure the safety of the Listonian people." Kaula said, closing her eyes, "We must all do this together in order for it to work though, please, my dearest friends, my sisters, help me." Verena and Esme nodded. They each pulled off their pendant and held it out in front of them, closing their eyes.

"The star, to guide you when you are lost. To help you search for what you need," Verena chanted.

"The sun, to give you light and guidance on your journey. To help you stay safe," Esme said.

"And the moon, a light to guide me in times of darkness," Kaula all but whispered.

The pendants began to glow, swirling around Kaula before joining into one, she clasped them into her chest and then she was gone. Verena and Esme looked at each other.

"I hope she will be alright," Esme whispered. Verena nodded solemnly.

"Let us go to the Seeing Pool," She said, they walked over to a large fountain, carved of marble and gold and looked down into it, to make sure their friend stayed safe.

An hour later in a small town on the outskirts of Listonia you could hear the cries of a newly born infant. An infant with wise silvery white eyes and a  birthmark in the shapes of a moon, star and sun weaved together on her right shoulder.
