*Luke's Pov*
(A Few Mintues Later)
Emma's parents went to bed after they were sure that she was okay. The three of us crawled back inside the make-shift fort. Ricki hugged Emma and I heard her whisper something but I didn't catch it. After a few mintues Ricki layed back down and went to sleep. Emma layed back down next to me, but she didn't go to sleep right away. "Are you okay Em?" I asked as I turned on my side so I was now facing her. She let out a long sigh, "I think so, I'm not a hundred percent sure though..." She trailed off and I heard her sniffle. I immediately wrapped her in my arms and stoked her hair. "It's okay, everything is going to be okay." I whispered as I felt her start shaking, she was crying again. "H-how can-n you-u be so-o su-re?" She managed to whisper. "Shh shh Emma, please calm down." I said just under a whisper because I didn't trust my voice. She started to cry even harder, and she snuggled closer into me and gripped onto my t-shirt. "Emma, please look at me." I whispered, after a few seconds she looked up from my chest, we locked eyes immediately. "Emma, I promise that I will do everything I can to protect you. Okay?" I said as I wiped away a few tears with my thumb. " I know we've only known each other for little under a week, but I feel like I've known you forever. I know this sounds stupid or something but it's the truth. And I know you probably don't feel the same about me, but-" Emma's lips cut me off, which shocked me at first but after a second or two I kissed back. Our lips moved in sync with each other, I ran my lip across her bottom lip, asking for entrance, and her lips parted. Our tongues were both fighting for dominance, and for a few mintues nothing else mattered. When we broke the kiss, we just looked at each other for a few seconds.
*Emma's Pov*
"If you need me I'm right here okay?" Ricki whispered as she hugged me. I nodded my head in reponse and she layed down and went to sleep. I layed back down, but I didn't go to sleep, I couldn't bring myself to close my eyes. "Are you okay Em?" I heard Luke asked and he turned to face me. When we broke apart, we looked at each other for a few seconds. "Luke, I do feel the same. I just didn't realize until now. The fact that you're willing to protect me no matter what, means everything to me. I'm just glad you're here with me." I said, as I looked him in the eye the whole time and I saw a smile start to formed on his face. "So, does this mean that you'll be my girlfriend?" Luke asked with hope in his eyes. "Yes." I replied and as soon as I did Luke kissed me again, and I felt fireworks. I smiled into it, and so did Luke. "Good night Love." He said breaking the kiss, "Night." I replied. Luke pulled me closer to him, if that was even possible, and rest his chin on top of my head. I nuzzled into the crook of his neck and took in his scent, I soon fell asleep to the steady beat in his chest.
