It was a jacket.
But not just any jacket; it was his old crop top jacket that he had always worn when he was in Team Voltron. That familiar red, yellow, and white that was filled with memories that were so vivid, but at the same time, distant. The young adult picked the jacket up and glared at it with deep remorse and empathy.
Keith began to slowly take off the suit the Blade of Marmora had given him and instead put on his old black shirt and red jacket. He walked over to the full length mirror that was hung up by his closet and looked at himself. He looked like his old self, but he didn't feel like his old self. Keith felt like some sort of stranger- even to himself.
"Yeah, who am I gonna make fun of?"
"Was that all I waas to you? A person who you can annoy?" the 19-year old said quietly to himself.

Shiro walked through the halls and ended up in his room. The black paladin grabbed rope and duck tape. He then walked out of the room, the only sound being heard were his footsteps and the evil chuckle he let out while doing so.
In another part of the castle, Lance was lying down on the couch in the loft and thinking about Keith and Shiro's recent behavior.
Why is Shiro acting like this? He's never like this . . . ever. The Shiro I know is very caring, supportive, determined, and a strong leader. The Shiro that's here with us right now is mysterious, cold, and . . . He is NOT our Space Dad. But, at the same time, why did Keith have to leave us? I mean, I know that the quintessence mission thing is really important to him, but couldn't he have just done it with US . . . ?
The red paladin looked at the ground beside in with a depressed look on his face. Allura came into the room, and she asked Lance a question.
"Is everything alright, Lance?"
The Cuban boy looked up at the Altean woman with dead eyes. The light that once shone in them had disappeared.
"Yeah. I'm just tired." was his dull response.
"Okay . . . If you say so . . ." said Allura as she then left Lance alone.

Keith continued to look at himself in the mirror as his face was symbolizing disappointment.
"Keith! Dinner's ready! Come down to the eating quarters." said Kolivan through the doors of his sleeping chambers. He banged on the doors only twice before leaving him alone.
"O-okay . . . G-gotcha." mumbled Keith as he replied back to the only other living member of the association.
~
When Keith walked into the eating quarters, he was greeted with wide eyes full of fear.
"Good evening, Kolivan . . ." said Keith quietly as he walked over to his seat.
"Why are you wearing those clothes?" Kolivan asked.
"W-what?"
"WHY ARE YOU WEARING THOSE DAMN CLOTHES?! ANSWER QUESTIONS WHEN ASKED." exclaimed the angered Galra as he stood up from his seated position.
"I . . . I . . ." stammered the Galra-human hybrid. Keith was frightened of his leader. He missed the warmth and love Team Voltron gave him.
It's for the quintessence . . . It's for the quintessence . . .
