The person above is Mia Wright.
Mia's POV:
I walk out into the common room of our dorm. Clara and Nicky are sitting on the pink-covered couch watching some dumb documentary about the royals. I sit next to Nicky and start picking at her bowl of popcorn.
"Hey Mia, I didn't think you were here," says Nicky
"Yeah, I'm finally off from the coffee shop. I thought I would never get a weekend day back," I sigh with relief. "I can catch up on some of my homework."
We all zone into the documentary as the narrator introduces the queen.
"Queen May, at the ripe age of 52, has three children with large age gaps. The Queen has come to England from her homeland of Scotland. She was a noblewoman and eventually got married to King Andrew around the age of 19. She has blonde..."
"What is up with your obsession with the royal family?" I ask them.
"Well, everyone but you is obsessed with them. Plus James is so dreamy," states Clara.
"Not only that, but they're entertaining," adds Nicky, "And they always have great fashion tastes. It inspires me."
We settle into some comfortable silence and continue watching the show. I'm not surprised that the royal family is being shown through clips from the past because I'm pretty sure they can't physically be in shows and other aspects of social media.
"King Andrew at 31 and Queen May at 27 had their firstborn son, James, and he is reaching the age of needing to become the future king. The Prince is taller than his parents but still has similar features."
I see different clips of him, and I won't lie—he is attractive. But I can't imagine he doesn't get anything and everything he wants. It makes me jealous simply because I can barely afford to attend the local higher education institution. I get up to leave as the documentary finishes talking about Princess Josephine.
I go towards my single dorm room and realize I missed a call from my mom so I ring her back.
"Hey, mum, you called?"
"Yeah, we were wondering if you want to come to dinner with us later tonight. We have something to talk about," she asks me with slight worry in her voice.
"Yeah, I can probably join you guys. I miss you," I reply.
"Okay perfect, meet us at the Pub around 6:30?"
"Yeah, I'll see you guys there."
I have to go grocery shopping today anyway, so I gather my wallet and snap a picture of the list on the fridge.
"Hey guys, I'm going to the store, does anyone want to come with?" I ask the room.
"Nah, all good," Nicky says.
"Oh can you pick up some of my mozzarella cheese," asks Jordan from her room.
"Yeah of course,"
I grab my keys and I start out the door. Alec seems to be about to walk in when I open the door. Alec, the boy next door. He is around 5'11 with blonde hair and baby-blue eyes. His soft eyes meet mine and he gives me a soft smile.
"Where are you off to?"
"The grocery store. It's shopping day,"
"Ooh, have fun, Mia. I'll see you later so we can study for Business Law," he sort of asks me.
"Yeah, as long we have coffee. I unfortunately feel very very unprepared for this exam on Tuesday."
"Cool works with me!"
