Mia's POV:

I am panicking. I cannot begin to tell my heart to relax. It's beating so hard that I'm pretty sure the cashier can hear it. God, how in the world am I going to pull this off? I can't imagine the look on everyone's face when they realize the fucking PRINCE is my plus one to family dinner. I'm going to–

"£60.31," The cashier says annoyed. I look at her face and there is a clear sign of annoyance within her eyebrows.

"Sorry, here you go," I say and hand her my card.

I rush out of there once I have gotten my receipt. She was definitely annoyed with me. James spots me and opens the door to my car.

"Please, let me help," He says as he grabs a bag of groceries and puts it into the trunk.

"James, you don't have to," I express.

"Please, just let me help," He insists.

I nod my head. My anxiety picks back up in the pit of my stomach. He has to come. I don't have time to go back to the dorms. I'm going to be in the headlines no matter what I do. I can't shove him in a car for more than an hour. That would be ridiculously rude.

"James, I have to ask you something," I hesitate.

"Yeah?"

"Will you come to dinner with me? I'm running late to my family's dinner and I just need to be able to get there so they don't have to reschedule on me. I'm sorry. I understand the risks of going out into public with you and all that which is why I'm begging you to understand that this is very last minute and I wouldn't have asked otherwise," I incoherently speak.

"You're a rambler," He chuckles like he thinks it's funny. "Yes, I would love to go. Are your parents going to be shocked?"

"Um, I said I had someone with me."

"You didn't bother to mention who?"

"They'll find out regardless, so let it be a surprise I guess. My little sister is gonna lose her shit."

"Finally someone excited to meet me," He smirks.

"If she doesn't pass out."

"Better warn her then. I wouldn't want to be responsible for that one."

"Uh, no. She will react, however. I am not giving them a warning."

He rolls his eyes and settles in the passenger seat as I settle into the driver's seat.

"Do you even know how to drive?" I blurt out, "I'm sorry."

"Don't be. I'll answer any questions you have to ask. It will be my pleasure." He assures me, "Yes, I know how to drive. Both manual and auto."

Thats hot. Manual is so hard to learn. Trust me my dad almost taught me until I made us almost die. I peek over at him and watch as he is staring out the window. I decide it's time to head to the pub. My favorite place for fish and chips with a small keg of beer. Normally the beer is reserved for nights out with friends. I'm beginning to get peckish as I pull onto the road.

"Do you ever wish people would treat you normal?"

"What do you mean?"

"Like, people always treat you like a celebrity. Would you ever not want to be treated that way?" I rephrase my question.

"You're not. I mean like treating me like royalty." He chuckles, "Maybe that's why I haven't wanted to leave your side yet. You're treating me like my family does, and that isn't something I normally receive when I go out."
