Chapter 1

Bella's P.O.V

It was a stormy night in the city Zathorox, everybody had metal umbrellas because the rain in Zathororx was acidic and it would create burns on your skin. But some people are immune to this as it is only the royal families. The main royal family is known as the Sanjous (San-jow) or the black bloods. If they were to be injured, black blood would pour out of their wounds. The reason for this is they all have practiced black sorcery for over 100 generations, the side effect being their bloods turning black. The second most royal family is the Swiftpaws, everybody in the family had super speed. Nobody knows how this happened as they are the oldest family in Zathorox. The last royal family is the Argonians or the waterbreathers. These creatures appear human but are half reptilian. The only reason I know all of this is from a book in the school library. My name is Bella Hanz I am in 3rd grade. If you can't tell I'm not part of any royal family or any of the big ones.
Once I got back from the library, lunchtime was over. My teacher, Bella Ray or Ms. Ray called us over " Come on class it's time to go in." That got a collective sigh from the whole class except for me. We walked inside the school, then to the classroom. "Okay, class it's time to do math" Ms. Ray said. As soon as I heard that I perked up, math was my favorite thing to do other than reading. "Okay can anybody tell me what 2x3 is?" Everybody raised their hands except me, I may love math but I don't like participating. Ms. Ray called on a Sanjou royal, his name is Hercules Sanjou, most people think the royals are so amazing, as they are but Hercules is to arrogant and prideful. "6, the answer is 6" he said. I saw something glisten in the light, I realized it was a calculator. 'Ha you're so stupid you can't even do that without a calculator' I thought. I didn't say anything to see if he would get caught, and I was right. "HERCULES!" Ms. Ray exclaimed. "You know we have a no cheating policy in this school, stay after we will call your parents." HA! He started to cry.

1 hour later 

School was over and my mom came to pick me up, her name is Emma Hanz. "Hi honey, how was school" she asked me. "Well I read a book on the royals in the library and a kid started to cry, other than that a pretty normal day" I said. "Who started to cry" she questioned. " It was a kid from the Sanjou family, Hercules Sanjou" I said, starting to giggle. We arrived home in shortly about 30 minutes. We walked inside and smelled alcohol, my mom escorted me to my room and put me inside the closet and told me to stay put.
She went back down stairs then I heard a crash and screams of "I told you to go to the rehabilitation center! I can't raise our child like this!" Then out of nowhere a loud boom rang out, then another one. I opened the closet door a peaked out, opened it fully and walked out. I stepped out into the hallway,

then walked down the stairs. Mom and dad were laying in something red, it soaked my shoes when I went to wake mommy. "Mommy wake up! you're not supposed to sleep on the ground."  I heard sirens and sat down and started to cry. Mommy was ignoring me. Daddy passed out drunk again next to her. But what was the strange liquid? A man kicked in the door and scared me, I began to bawl louder. He told me "Don't worry I'm a good person, we'll keep you safe."
