Today was the day. No going back on plans. Shadow was going to come out and confess his love to Amy...with a gift.
Today was Valentine's day, and Shadow has been nervous the past few weeks. Would Amy reject his gift and love? Or will ahe feel the same way? Shadow sighed.
He parked his car in Amy's driveway and sat back in his seat. He wasn't quite sure if he was ready yet. He glanced over at the bouquet of flowers and picked them up. Holding the flowers close to his chest, he wished himself luck, and exited the car.
As he looked at Amy's house, he saw the front window curtains draw back, and Amy was looking out. When Amy noticed him, she smiled and waved, then scurried over to answer the door. Shadow walked up the porch steps.
Before he could knock, Amy opened the door and practically pulled him in.
"Shadow! Why are you here? Aren't you going to spend Valentine's day with Sonic?" Amy noticed the flowers and pointed at them. "Are those for Sonic? They're beautiful! He'll love them!"
"Ah.. Um, no, " Shadow stuttered. "These are for you."
Amy was astonished. "Shadow... What are you trying to say?"
"I'm trying to say that I-I have really liked you for a while now and-"
"But, but Sonic..."
"I , may even have more feelings then 'like' and-"
"Won't he be sad?"
"I think I love you, " Shadow finiahed.
Amy opened her mouth as to say something, but quickly shut it. She studied the bouquet closer and took it out of Shadow's hands hesitately.
"Shadow, I'm flattered. I really am, but I have to ask about-"
"I left Sonic," Shadow stared down at the floorboards, twiddling his thumbs.
"Wh-Why would you leave him? You two were so happy together. Well, at least it seemed like it."
Shadow lookes up at Amy, staring into her eyes.
"I left him for you." Shadow stepped closer to Amy, grabbing the flowers and setting it down somewhere nearby before. Shadow took hold of Amy's hands before she could protest.
"I had a feeling I could be happier with you. I don't know if you even like me.I don't know if you even like bad boys, but I do know that every time I look at you and every time I hear your voice and that beautiful laughter, that I'm hopelessly in love with my friend. "
Amy continued to stare at Shadow. His face was flushed pure red. Amy glanced down at Shadow's hands, which were intertwined with her's. Shadow stared back at her, eyes full of hope.
"Shadow, I never knew you felt that way about me. I always pushed back my feelings for you because of the same reasons. "
"So... so all this time you-" Shadow's words trailed off. He was too busy worrying about his own feelings and rhw terrible thought of being rejected, that he never acknowledged Amy's affection towards him.
Amy nodded, a faint smile on his face. "Shadow, you could have confessed sooner. You kept me waiting, friend."
"I'm sorry. Oh, and Amy?"
"What is it? "
Shadow leaned forward, closer and closer to Amy's ear.
"Amy, will you be my Valentine?" he whipered
" Of course, Shads," Amy gainned, pulling Shadow into a hug.
He had a feeling this was the start of a beautiful relationship.
