Its been nearly a week since the fire incident, turns out Lily had actually put out the fire. Everyone has pretty much developed their powers and abilities, except for one person.
Kyle.
It seems like he's getting the blunt of everything. First the dream, then the nightmare, now he doesn't even have powers.
Kyle is currently sitting of to the side while everyone was off in the distance of the forest sparring, practicing, doing whatever to get their abilities better.
Jack had paused from his training to take a look over at Kyle, who was sitting a couple feet away underneath a tree, hugging his knees as he just looked at everyone with a very strange look...
Jack decided to take a break, wiping the sweat from his forehead and walking to sit with Kyle. Kyle looked at him, giving a bit of a sad smile.
Jack frowned a little, he hated seeing his friend like this. "What's wrong?"
"What's wrong?" Kyle asked, a bit surprised by the question.
"Yeah. What's wrong?" Jack repeated.
Kyle just sighed, regaining his somewhat strange look and looking away from Jack."Answer me!" Jack snapped, making Kyle jump a little and making him look back over at him, a bit of fear in his eyes.
"... D-don't you get it...? I'm not supposed to be here. I don't have any powers. I was just the messenger for you guys. And that's all ill ever be! Worthless!" Kyle started to tear up as he jumped up, running off into the forest."WAIT! KYLE!" Jack yelled out, jumping up. The yell had made everyone freeze, looking over in the direction of Jack.
"What's going on?!" Lily yelled out, starting to get worried.
"Kyle ran off! We've gotta go find him before he gets hurt!"
Mutters and mumbled erupted from the small group, a series of curse words and so on. They all made their way over to Jack in a bit of a rush."This way, follow me." Jack quickly walked to the area where Kyle had run into.
"We need to split up. Rev, Lily, and Trenton are one group, and Lily, Sans, and I are the other."
Everyone nodded, group one going to the left as the other went to the right."Did you see which way he went?" Sans asked, his head whipping around. He was in hyper vigilance mode right now.
"No... I just saw him run into here." Jack sighed, he seemed... Sad, almost, he felt bad. Like, really bad. He was the one who pressured Kyle into answering him and made him run off.
"Well... We'll find him! I'm sure! I sense him near here..." Lily said, now starting to take the lead.To their surprise, Lily lead them the right way as there was quiet sobbing in the distance.
The three sped up to a run, and found themselves at a small clearing where, in the middle, sat the small boy."Kyle! Ohmygod, I thought-"
"G-go away..." Kyle interrupted Jack. He had a very serious tone in his voice.
"Huh?" Jack was confused, Kyle never acts like this."I-I said... Go... AWAY!" Kyle looked up, ice forming in front of him with in a second, and shooting towards the three at air-splitting speed.
Jack panicked, quickly forming a fire sheild and letting the icicles hit it and melting. They knocked him back hard though, to a point where Sans had to catch him.
The three stared at Kyle in shock and fear. Kyle was staring back, his eyes now an icy blue. He was breathing heavily with tears streaming down his face.
After a few seconds though, his eyes faded back to normal has his breathing slowed. His eyes dulled as he fell to his side, passing out once more.
They all rushed over to him, Jack kneeling down to cradle him in his arms.
"Sans, Lily, go find the others. Ill bring Kyle back..." Jack said, his voice somewhat monotone.
"But won't you need he-"
"Just go!" Jack snapped at Sans, and, not to anger Jack anymore, the two ran off to find them.Jack just continued to sit there, holding Kyle close and hunching over him. It would be a while before they returned.
~fastfoward to a while later back at Kyle's house~
Kyle awoke, his vision a bit blurry but it cleared up, focusing on someone before him... Jack.
"Kyle...! You're awake...!" Jack quietly exclaimed, resting his forehead on Kyle's.
Kyle smiled weakly, looking at Jack.
"Yeah... Its good to see you..." Kyle whispered, looking at Jack.
Jack moved his head back some, but not much, only to where their faces were just a few centimeters apart.
"I was so worried about you... I'm so glad you're okay..." Jack's voice cracked a little.
"Hey, hey, calm down... Its not going to just take that to get rid of me..." the two laughed a little.Their hands were intertwined with each-others. They gazed at each other in silence, an unknown look in each of their eyes.
Suddenly, someone walked in, it was Rev.
"Hey, you two gays okay?"
Jack quickly looked at Rev, his cheeks about as red as his hair and Kyles cheeks as pink as a pink rose.
"I- uh- uhm- w-were fine!" Jack stuttered.
"Oh. Oh, oh! Kyle's awake! Everyone, Kyle's awake!" Rev called out. Immediately everyone walked inside, delighted to see Kyle was okay.Jack smiled at Kyle as he got up, pushing his way through everyone. Kyle really didn't want him to leave.
The two gave each other one more glace before Jack walked off, and Kyle got flooded in questions.~to be continued~
