3 MONTHS LATER

I can't believe I'm going home today. Why am I so nervous? I don't even bother folding my clothes and just shove a bunch of sweaters and sweatpants into my duffle.
Grayson looks up from his suitcase, "You okay?"
"Yeah I'm just a little nervous to see my parents today."
He drops his shirt and comes toward me, he wraps his muscular arms around me and I just stand there breathing in his scent. I'm gonna miss being away from him- even if it's just for two weeks. He pulls away and rests his hand on either side of my face. He kisses my forehead.

I didn't know how I would react seeing my mom and dad but it was not what I was expecting. The roles switched and I ended up crying and my parents not. Driving back to Lowell makes me miss everything about it.

I woke up to an abrupt stop at the end of my drive way. It was already 9 pm and I'm exhausted. There's a light layer of snow on the ground, I'm surprised that my parents haven't put the Christmas lights on but I'm way to tired to ask. I drag my bag up the front steps half asleep. "SURPRISE!!" I nearly fall over. Now I'm wide awake. Jordyn and Kylie runs over and jumps on me. Oh god I'm crying again. We all sit down by the fireplace with hot cocoa and the girls and I catch up on boys, fashion, and everything. It's good to be home.

The smell of pancakes and maple syrup with some Christmas songs on the side is the perfect way to wake up. I take my time going downstairs, looking at all the little pictures hanged up in the hallway, though I've seen them a billion times. I walk downstairs and I see my parents with the box of ornaments and a naked tree. I jump with joy and rushed over to the box.
"Don't you want some pancakes honey?" My mother says.
"Yeah, grab a couple stacks Stass." My dad says with his mouthful.
I speed walk to the kitchen, stuffed a couple pancakes in my face, gulped down a cup of oj and ran back to the living room. I've always loved putting ornaments on the tree, because every year we add a new one. After finishing the tree and admiring last years edition, a cannoli from our trip to Italy, I patiently wait for my mom to present me the new ornament. At that moment my mom hands me a small brown box with a white ribbon. I undo the ribbon and open the box, it's a small glittery bird. It's the most beautiful thing. I asked her why? All of our ornaments has a story to it but I don't understand the bird? She shook her head and finished her breakfast. I didn't bother to ask further questions. That's what I loved about my mom, she's a mysterious women.

My phone rang, it's Kylie.
"What's up?"
"Hey nothing much just decorated the tree and ate breakfast, you?"
"Oh you know, just got invited to the craziest New Years party!"
"Franco brothers?!"
"WHO ELSE?!"
"Oh my god!"
"Yeah...AND YOU'RE INVITED TOO"
I scream louder than I should've and my mom comes running upstairs.
"Are you okay???" She says out of breath.
"Yeah, hey Ky, I'll call you later. So I got invited to the Franco brothers New Years party, can I go? Thanks love ya."
"Wait a minute, Franco as in James and Dave Franco?"
"...yeah."
"You know I've heard that cops are already at the Franco's two says prior to their annual party."
"Nooo mom. It's not that bad I swear. Pleaseeeee. This will probably be the only time I'd get invited to a party like this."
"Is Kylie and Jordyn going?"
"Yeah.."
"Ok."
"Is that a yes?"
"Yes."
I squeal. "Yayyyy thanks mom." I give her a huge hug.
