Jack, still haunted by the apparition of Sawyer's dimples, wandered into the jungle. He was halfway through, almost to the caves, when he heard a voice behind him.
"Hey Jack." It said.
He turned and was face to face with Kate.
She was a beautiful lil hoe and he got anime heart eyes whenever he was her.
"Hi Kate." He said, and she smiled.
"How are you doing?" She asked, leaning closer.
"Good, a bit tired though, I just finished playing ping pong with Sawyer." Jack said.
"You and Sawyer? God, I wish that I had been there." Kate said, and she looked as if she had just nutted at the thought of that.
Jack laughed. "Well, it was quite a sight to see."
Kate looked around suddenly, her eyes scanning the jungle.
"It appears that we're alone." She said.
"Yeah, I guess so." Jack said, shrugging.
Just then, Kate stood on her tippy toes and kissed him. His lips moved against hers, and as he closed his eyes, he went into a vision. His vision went black and he saw two little floating angels with Charlie's face playing trance-like music on golden harps. Suddenly he felt stubble against his face, silken lips against his own, and he was not kissing Kate anymore. He was kissing Sawyer. Sawyer's voice played in his head, taunting.
What's up Doc?
All of the sudden, Sawyer's lips left Jack's, and he opened his eyes. Kate was staring at him, face flushed, eyes wide.
"What was that?" She demanded.
"What?" Jack asked, honestly bamboozled.
"You said a name when you were kissing me, Jack." Kate said, a hand sassily on her hip.
Jack winced. "Really? What name?"
"Sawyer." Kate said. "You said 'Sawyer'. Is there something you want to tell me, Jack?"
Jack turned as red as a tomato.
"Uhhh, no. It's nothing. I think I was just distracted. I like you, Kate. That kiss was very nice." He said, hoping he sounded like he was telling the truth.
Kate smiled, but he saw in her eyes something that seemed to say 'I know your little secret'.
"See you around, Doc." She said, and walked away.
Jack was left alone in the jungle, and he laid in the mossy grass, hand over his head. He was so confused, twisted this way and that. Did he really enjoy Kate's kiss or did he only enjoy it when he thought she was Sawyer?
"Fuck me." Jack lamented, head in his hands.
"Gladly." A southern-twanged voice said jovially.
Jack's eyes shot opened and he saw Sawyer looming over him.
"Leave me alone, Sawyer. I don't have time for your bullshit." Jack said, getting up off the floor. He locked eyes with the other man, they were both about the same height so they stood eye-to-eye.
"Harsh words, Doc Do-Right. Harsh words." Sawyer said, hands in the air.
"I was going to ask if you wanted a rematch tomorrow, but clearly you're not interested." He added, and turned to leave, flipping his succulent blond hair over one shoulder.
"Sawyer, wait." The words escaped Jacks mouth and he was surprised over how husky his voice had become.
Sawyer turned around, eyes glittering.
"Are you talking to mwa?" He asked.
Jack sighed. "A rematch tomorrow would be great." He said.
"Terrific, Doc. Let's shake on it." Sawyer smiled, dimples and all, and extended a tanned hand. Jack shook it, and once the other man walked away, all he could think was:
What did I get myself into?
