today, i'm looking for him. i can't keep waiting, waiting's no good. there must be a way i can find him. i could look around apartment blocks and see if any are familiar, but that would take far too long. i could look in a phone book, maybe. would his number be in a phone book? i don't even know if he has a house phone, and cell phone numbers won't be in one. it might be worth a try, if i knew where to find one. i could try to borrow one, that's what i'll do, i'll borrow a phone book from someone and see if his number shows up.
i step out of my apartment block and i'm met with the crisp autumn wind, the sky is clear and the day is still young. i guess it's really time to stop procrastinating and take matters into my own hands.
i walk for a while until i reach the older side of town, where i figure more people would have phone books. everyone in my part of town was around 20-30 and i'm pretty sure that they wouldn't have them.
my wandering seems to have led me somewhere because here i am, standing in some sweet old lady's home. i saw her out in her front lawn working on a garden. i felt bad interrupting her work, but it needed to happen.
"uh, hello. i was wondering if you, by chance, happened to have a phone book that i could maybe borrow for a few seconds?"
"a phone book? well of course! let me just go tidy up for a second and you can just come right in!"
"oh, no," i'm waving my hands out in front of me, hoping that she'll get the memo, "that's really not necessa-" this isn't going to be the quick mission that i had thought of.
"please? i insist. it would be rude of me to just send you off." this was definitely not how i wanted to spend my afternoon but i guess it could be worse.

an- i dunno if i'm finishing this book, i'm not really liking it and i've started writing another oisuga book that i'm excited about so uh we'll see what happens to this one
