The Hammy Awards!

hey guys! welcome to helplesshamiltons!

we decided that we would host the hammy awards, which we made up. we want to get some recognition for the amazing hamilton fanfiction that's out there!

so, here's the deal with these awards:

cast fanfiction (about lin, pippa, jasmine and anthony, etc) is able to be submitted! 

when we say 'historical fanfiction' it's about alexander, eliza, etc...

you can only submit a story you've written or one that you have permission to publish on your own account. you should have the story on your own account. 

stories originally published on archive of our own are allowed, but we'd prefer if you copy and paste the story into a new wattpad story for easy access.

NO SMUT. YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

here are the categories for these awards:

Inimitable, Original- award for best original fictional character. this character is dynamic, interesting, and three-dimensional. the character jumps off the pages of the novel.

To The Groom, To The Bride- award for the cutest ship in a book. whether this ship is real or imaginary, cast or historical, the pair is clearly meant to be together, and the writing shows it.

Dedicating Every Day To You- award for fluffiest story. this book causes all the feels, whether because of friendship, happy moments, relationships, or just amazing, heartwarming storylines.

Young Scrappy and Hungry- award for most dramatic story. this book has many twists and turns in the plot that takes the reader on an incredible journey throughout the course of the story.

History Has Its Eyes On You- award for best historical book. this story perfectly captures the historical figures portrayed in the musical. this means alexander, eliza, angelica, and everyone else. this novel beautifully showcases the time period and the events surrounding the musical.

Drop Some Knowledge- award for best cast story. this book includes cast members of hamilton. it can be the original broadway cast, any other current of past broadway casts, the chicago cast, the tour cast, and original characters. the characters are realistically written and the story focuses more on the show than a specific ship, though those elements can be included in it.

Palaces Out of Paragraphs- award for best technical skill. this book has an interesting plot, well thought-out characters, and has all the elements of a developed writer. this includes grammar, punctuation, and all the aspects of advanced writing.

Helpless- awarded to two stories as our personal favorites.. these will be decided separately- one from abby, one from anna. these novels may not fit perfectly into some of the categories mentioned, but regardless, they capture our hearts, imaginations, and minds throughout the entire story until the very end.

prizes- you get a sticker for the cover of your book, and we'll follow you (if we aren't already following you). additionally, your book will be put in a reading list with all of the other hammy award winners.

another prize will be a writing session with us (anna and abby). we're still thinking of the details but it would probably involve a wait for it oneshot, the first chapter of the sequel to wait for it, or a oneshot with everyone. we haven't decided. of course you can decline this part of the prize.

when we've read your story, we'll put a comment on the first chapter of your book, so we know which ones we still need to read.
