Anna

Karla looked a mess. She looked like she hadn't eaten in days, her hair was damp and her eyes were full of tears. She didn't seem to care that she was dripping from head to toe as she stepped into my apartment, her small arms wrapping around me as our dry and wet clothes smashed together. I didn't have to ask to know what and who was making her cry.

"I never liked him," I whisper in her ear, she sobs again.

"C'mon, let's get you dry."

After I clean her up and give her some clothes to put on, we sit down on the couch in the small living room and pop in a DVD, even though we'll probably just be talking over it. We both have a bowl of ice cream in our hands as we sit in comfortable silence, her legs thrown over mine as she dries her last tear.

"I'm not going back to him, Anna." She whispers, her voice terribly horse.

"Good.” I dig into my ice cream.

"Anna, what am I going to do?” She asks.

"Live a better life, a good life. Find someone who won't treat you like complete and utter shit."

“I just… I don't know who I am without him, and you have no idea how stressful that is because I fucking hate him and yet I need him in my life for anything to ever make sense. I just don't understand anymore." She begins to cry again, and right when I'm going to give one of my many award-winnings speeches, the doorbell rings.

"Shit," I curse and stand to get the door, staring at the rain through the window.

I open it to find Niall standing flawlessly in the hoodie I bought him from his birthday. He doesn't let me say hi before he tumbles in my apartment saying;

"Okay, baby, I got ten minutes before my next shift," he says ripping off his sweater and walking towards me. I laugh and place my hands on his chest, resisting him.

"Niall, Karla and Louis fought." I whisper, his big blue eyes lock on Karla sitting on the couch and his face goes red.

"Oh, uhm." He picks up his sweater and throws it back over his shoulders.

"Hey there, tiger." Karla laughs with her eyes glossy. It's good to see her smile.

"I can go." he whispers.

"No, stay. You can watch the first ten minutes of Rent.” Karla suggests. She always liked Niall, she knew how well he treated me.

He looks at Karla then back at me, his eyes so blue and full of lust, making me wonder if I should ask Karla to come back in fifteen minutes.

"I can stay." he says, his voice low and soft.

We're all squished on my couch that can hardly hold two people as the movie starts, me sitting inbetween both of my guests.

"Isn't your work like, 45 minutes away?" I eventually ask niall, looking at him.

"Yes,” He says.

"You drove all this way?"

Niall smiles, his vision still on the television.

"Yes."

***

Karla's asleep on the couch as me and Niall whisper in hopes not to wake her.

Niall stayed for 20 minutes instead of 10 and said he'd just blame traffic.

"I'll walk you out." I say quietly, walking him to the door.

He kisses me lovingly and opens the front door.

"Louis?" He whispers in shock.

I check over nialls shoulder and see Louis sitting on my steps, his head down and his elbows on his knees as the rain floods over his skin.

Fucking jackass...
