MOMOI
We arrive at the beach house around noon. We all hurry down the bus dragging our bags and suitcases on our wake. As soon as I get down and my flip flops touch the warm sand, I take a deep breath and shut my eyes, feeling the moment.
That is, until someone bumps into me from behind.
I almost fall over, but that 'someone' catches me by the arm and stops me from making a fool out of myself by falling over. Instinctively, I yank my arm back and glare at the person responsible for my nearly falling over. He's one of my classmates, and I've never really talked to him before because he likes to keep to himself, and I'm too much of a chatterbox to ever enjoy being in his company.
"Sorry," he says. "Didn't see you there."
"What am I? Invisible?"
The corner of his mouth twitches in a brief sign of amusement. "Hardly."
I huff and turn my back to him, trying not to appear too annoyed by his presence. I scan the crowd for my friends, and I find Makino right away. Of course, Domyouji will always be right beside her. Not that I expected anything less from him. Ryuto and Elsie are still bickering not too far from the shuttle. Kyouya, Ciel, and the others just got off our ride either.
"Okay, people!" Kaichou Hiyori yells and we all turn to her. "We'll be deciding who will share rooms later. And I don't want to hear any complaint about our sleeping arrangement when I announce it, okay? In the meantime, you can just go and roam around, but be back for the bonfire just before sunset. Understand?"
We all respond with our own variations of yes, and then scatter around the place.
"Where are we going to spend the entire day waiting for sunset?" I ask Makino when I approach her and Domyouji.
Domyouji just glares at me. "She's mine for the entire day," he says flatly. "I don't want to share."
I just give him an eye roll. Trust Domyouji to monopolize Makino's time for the entire day. I could have bothered Elsie and Ryuto, but they seem to engrossed in their conversation. So I guess I will be spending an entire day alone until the bonfire. I can't help but sigh.
"You don't have a lot of friends, do you?"
I shriek in surprise and turn to the person who spoke with a deadly glare. Turns out, he's also the same guy I bumped into earlier. "You surprised me!"
"What do you say about just spending time with me?" he offers with a smirk.
"Ugh. No way. Not even if you're the last person on earth."
"Am I that hard to be with?" he asks with a frown, which I can't tell if genuine of fake, since I don't really know him that much. I can't even call him by his name.
I blink rapidly, unable to respond to his question. I mean, how do you answer a question like that? "Um, don't you have any other person to bother? Because as you can probably see, I don't like talking to you."
"Well, that's a shame because I feel like talking talking to you all day."
