Chapter Nine
Three words to descibe Jenna?
Bitch. Pompous. Hag.
Kahit sino pang nasa tamang pag-iisip yung tanungin mo.
"What are you doing here?" I said with the sweetest smile I can manage.
She stood taller. Her arms never left Third's. Wala ba syang balak bumitaw? Has she finally turned into a leech? "It's a huge a event. I'm a supermodel. Do the math." She said, cocking her eyebrows at me as if saying she being here makes perfect sense.
I gave out a sarcatic laugh. "Last time I checked, this is a charity event and as far as I can recall, you're not a charitable person."
She was about to say something when Nate interrupted "Whoa girls, drop the banter. We're here to have fun. Right, Third? Wait.. You're here bro! What are you doing with my sister?" They know each other?
I looked at Third. He was glaring at Nate when he suddenly took two long strides to my side so he's now blocking the distance between me and Nate. Meanwhile, Jenna stared at him in shock. Para kasing walang kaalam alam si Third na nakakakapit pala sa kanya si Jenna when he abandoned her side.
He handed me a glass of cocktail drink and turned to Nate. "I'm here with Jetaime, not your sister. So if you may excuse us?" He slid his hands on mine and pulled me away "Enjoy the night." We walked out and never looked back.
"You know them?" He asked while still pulling me towards the hall.
"Yeah, unfortunately. Teka—" I planted my feet to make him stop walking. "Ikaw? Kilala mo sila?" I asked him back.
"I met them back at the states. Their family used to hold part of the company's stocks but that was long ago. We weren't really close though. I don't like that Nate guy. As for Jenna, she was quite, uh how do I put this.. Liberated? Yeah."
Liberated? Nah. She's more than that. She's a bitch. Like bitch-bitch. Back when we were both in high school, she's an ultimate bully. Not just that. She flirted with almost every guy who she deemed attention-worthy. She even tried hooking up with my brother once since they're on the same batch but she failed. My brother knew better than waste time on her kind.
An idea sunk in. "Oh my goodness. Don't tell me she tried to flirt with you. Is that it?" I stared at him intently. Feeling ko yun talaga eh. The way she slung her arm over Third's earlier. Ugh! That woman!
Third snickered and shrugged a bit. "She's not my type."
I rolled my eyes at him. I doubt it. Having born and raised in the states, I'm pretty sure ganung mga babae yung gusto nya. Jenna's hot. Not pretty. Not beautiful. But terribly hot. "Then what's your type?" I regretted asking the moment the words came out of my mouth.
His expression turned thoughtful. "Simple. Women on their simplest form are the ones I find beautiful." then he stared at me. "And Jenna isn't one of them. Trust me. I may be raised in the states but my mom taught me pure chivalry." I was tongue tied. God, I was a naturally born opinionated person but ever since I met this guy I was rendered speechless often. His stares! May lahi ba syang medusa kaya natitigilan ako pag nakatitig sya?
"F-fine. Whatever—Oh! There they are!" I said, pointing at my friends who're heading towards us.
"Ang tagal nyo naman." says Reign. Kuya stood behind her. By the looks of it, alam na din ng iba na may something sa kanilang dalawa. It's an easy catch. Kuya went here with her instead of his sister. What else could that possibly mean, right?
