I never in my life would have thought that people could die in hurricanes. Again I had never experienced a big one before , so I didn't know the huge impact it could have. Since there was no power people with treatments such as dialysis were in a critical point. There were various health issues such as leptospirosis and human scabies. Deaths started getting reported through the news. Day by day the number grew bigger and bigger. Nothing hurt more than hearing that people were committing suicide because of the effects of the hurricane. It made me feel like we had lost faith. Apart from that it sucked seeing army helicopters come and go all the time. I felt helpless and hurt in a way I had never known before. It felt like a war zone which we couldn't escape. I want to express my huge gratitude to all the people who donated and helped PR in this time. J- Lo made me cry with the concert: One Voice. I could feel all people joined for our island. We weren't alone and we were gonna really stand up. I don't know what the future holds for this tiny island in the middle of the Caribbean but I know for certain that no matter what life throws at us we'll make it through.
